"Great everything jacket!"  04/25/11

Debated for a while on which rain jacket to get and finally decided on the Patagonia Stretch Element and honestly couldn't be happier. Skied with it during a blizzard in the PNW, wore it during hikes in fog and rain and didn't get wet a bit. Nice breathable material kept me dry and comfortable. Only issues are that the sleeves are too long and I have to roll them up a bit and there is no chest pocket. Other pockets are amazingly watertight and big enough to hold anything you are carrying with you. Inner mesh pockets as well. Drawstring hood tightens on either side of the cheek, drawstring around waist as well. Great jacket and very happy!

"Pricey but worth every penny"  03/21/11

Finally sucked up it and bought this jacket just in time for a great weekend of Colorado spring skiing and am so happy I did. When it first came i was a little worried because it seemed so light but it performed perfectly. It was a balmy 50 degrees at the base and I was sweating up a storm but totally comfortable thanks to the combination of breathable fabric and pit zips but then was completely protected at the top with 40-60 mph wind gusts. I also love the stretchiness of the material - doesn't restrict range of motion like other jackets can. Overall, an excellent waterproof and windproof jacket.

"Your second (totally waterproof) skin"  11/02/10

I am a proud owner of this Stretch Element in last year's edition - the main difference is probably just the color. I love the material this jacket is made of. It is highly breathable - by that I mean it doesn't get wet on the inside, not even when it gets warmer and you sweat more. It is totally waterproof and windproof (tested while ice climbing in bad bad bad weather). The structure of the material is very smooth and soft and it feels like your second skin. This might also be an issue - I actually don't dare to try its durability. All in all it is a great jacket, it's definitely money well spent.
