"terrific shell" 12/03/10
great shell, great features, I don't know how it is so much warmer than older patagonia shell (is it the mesh liner?). Sturdy, indestructible top layer that will be worn all winter in upstate ny with mid-layer. Seems like it will last a lifetime--like my last hard-shell from patagonia that still is going strong! Buy a color you will like for a LONG time!

I wear this jacket over one of my Moosejaw hoodies and I am pretty much good to go. I am a preschool teacher and it is great for keeping me warm when I am standing there watching the kids and great at not making me too hot when I am chasing after them. It breaks the wind really well, especially the hood. And I love the waterproofing. A tiny drizzle or a heavy downpour, we get it all in Seattle and this jacket can handle it all. Would highly recommend it as long as you are not trying to keep from freezing in the snow. Besides the practicality factor, it is a very nicely fitting and flattering jacket. I bought the black one and it goes well with all of my clothing.
