Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. It's cute to think of a fabric as being afraid of water. Now if only they could make a bearphobic coating. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Versatle, Funcional Ski or Snowboard Jacket!I have worn this skiing a few times now, and i love this coat! The fact that it has TONS of pocket space makes it versatile. I am able to carry my phone, headphones, snacks, etc. so easily. Im 5'3" and 125 and i ordered a Medium. Its a little long on the sleeves, but the velcro closure at the wrist helps with the length. The medium allows me to wear some layers underneath on cold days. With a long johns and a decent sweater, it made my recent ski trip is 20 degree temps a lot more fun. I can also say that the coat is a bit long for my petite body, but it helped sitting on the snow-covered lifts as my bottom stayed dry! The hood was great and large enough to wear even with a helmet. The jacket is a perfect fit and the perfect weight for skiing or snowboarding. I am also hoping to get use out if it form some winter hikes and snowshoeing. I gave it "Big Ups" and not a "Love It" only because i wish Patagonia made Petite size jackets. Still, i always seem to make them work!

Comfy and Warm JacketHands down the best jacket I've ever had. I live in a town with highly unpredictable weather; literally, the day will start out warm and sunny then transition to rain then snow then hail. However, most winter days are windy and cold (~20-30°F). This jacket has all the essentials and I'm well prepared for the crazy weather. It's light enough to wear on those warm, sunny, yet cold days and not honey roast inside (breathes well) AND its heavy enough to wear when there's an unexpected snow storm. The hood is perfect and covers your entire head and it's even adjustable to make smaller for those extremely windy days so the wind won't blow it off. This jacket even has the perfect amount of puff to it so when it starts hailing you don't feel like you're sitting in the front row of a roller coaster during a downpour. A perfect fit too! I'm 5'8 and ~160 and acquired a medium; there's enough room to wear a mid-layer underneath to keep extra warm. In all seriousness, it's a great jacket.
