The Patagonia Women's Rock Craft Pant is a lightweight nylon pant for climbing, trekking, and general adventuring. The 40 UPF provides ample sun protection when you’ll be out for the whole day and when rain clouds roll in, a durable water repellent provides just enough water resistance for you to make it back to camp or to the car. The nylon is blended with 4% spandex that combines with a gusseted crotch and articulation in the knees to maximize free movement on the trail. Pockets at the front and back with a zippered thigh pocket hang onto your compass and snacks on the trail, and allow the pants to transfer easily into an around-the-town environment.

Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. It's cute to think of a fabric as being afraid of water. Now if only they could make a bearphobic coating. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Women's Fit Guide Details & Info
Patagonia's measurements refer to body size and NOT garment dimensions. Sorry for yelling about it.
Each Patagonia product is designed and shaped specifically for its intended use, and below are their generalized four fit descriptions, and details about each fit. The Patagonia fit for each style can be found in the product description features or specifications.
FORMFITTING • Conforms to the body's contours.
SLIM FIT • Closer-fitting. Slim-fitting technical garments may be worn over baselayers and light midlayers.
REGULAR FIT • Neither slim nor oversized. Regular-fitting technical garments may be worn over heavier midlayers. Men's regular fit pants have a slimmer fit through that thigh, lower leg, and cuff.
RELAXED FIT • Drapes loosely on the body. Men's relaxed fit pants have a bit of extra room through the hip, thigh, lower, and cuff.
CLASSIC BOY FIT • Boxy, athletic, with a traditional crew neck.
ANIKA FIT • Formfitting and longer in the torso, with a wider, deeper neck (not quite scoop).

They really rock!So far these pants are standing up great to abuse while hiking, snowshoeing, working with horses and climbing (indoors). I'm always looking for hiking/climbing pants that will actually fit curvy hips and butt, and they are hard to find. The Rock Craft pants (I got a size 10) are right on - fairly slim fit without being tight, they don't have the baggy lower legs that get caught on everything. Great stretch in the material and thoughtful pocket layout. Haven't had any issue with tears as yet. Good work, Patagonia!

awesome pants but ripped after time spent climbingI thought these pants would be awesome because they are really lightweight, dry-wicking pants that can be rolled up if its really hot out or kept down and layered on top of in the cold. I climbed in them and they worked really well in all conditions but they tore!!! Must've been from getting caught on my climbing gear but I was so sad because these pants are truly the best!! Not sure what they could do to fix this problem..keep it thin but keep it from tearing??

These would look good on someone with fewer curvesI am almost 5'5" and 133 pounds with some curves and these pants were not at all flattering on me. They were too tight on the legs and loose on the waist. They would probably look great on someone with fewer curves.
