Patagonia makes quality items and this jacket is no exception. I would recommend the hooded option as it proved to be a necessity in the coldest winter I have experienced. The warmth level of this jacket is unreal with only a tee shirt under. Will repurchase again when this one is worn out! amazing!
Seriously, this is one of the best purchases I've ever made. I live in Northern VA and it's been a pretty cold winter. When it's in the teens and twenties I put this on with a jacket over it and its perfect. When it's above thirties I just throw this on over a t-shirt and it's perfect. It's breathable and light but it keeps me perfectly warm. I'm outside riding my horse all the time and this is the best thing to wear. It keeps me warm but it isn't very thick, so it doesn't get in the way. Love it so much, I'll probably buy it in a different color soon. Btw the hood is a great plus, when it gets windy I put it up and it covers my head and keeps the wind away.
The ikat purple color is even better than I expected! I'm 5'10 and wear a size 4-6. I ordered a medium thinking there would be a little extra room but it runs smaller than I expected. Maybe bc it's slim fit? It still fits well, however I don't think I could wear it over multiple layers. Also, bc I'm tall, the sleeves hit just a tiny bit shorter than I would like but I'm used to that. With all that said, I would still keep the medium over the large. Lastly, not quite as warm as I had hoped BUT that turned out to be a good thing bc I can wear it comfortably indoors without getting too warm. I don't have to keep putting it on and taking it off every time I take the dogs out etc. It has replaced my old college hoodie I used to wear when I just wanted to be casual. I really do love it! I will probably be living in it until summer.
Great hoody, really cute with great colors, I got the pink with teal pockets one and love love love it! I think the hoodie will be great for my hiking trip, and also for walking around my snowy Kzoo campus. Fits well on my body, not necessarily the most flattering thing but great for throwing on and walking around or hiking in.
I haven't used this hoody in action yet, just lazy Sundays around the house and quick walks with the dog. I have to say though, just from those short experiences, I'm pretty bummed.Pros: The colors of the hoody are phenomenal! Whatever color you pick will be exactly what you were picturing. It's also mega comfy. Easy to throw on layers underneath or over top. Breathable mesh underneath the pouch, sleeves are long enough for the taller folks. Cons: There is no shape to it. There is a seam that hits right above the breast and creates your torso (at least mine) into a lovely box shape. If you can get past the ungirly cut, BUY IT! It wont disappoint.
I love this hoody. If I could wear it all day every day without getting weird looks, I totally would. It's warm and comfy and basically everything I've ever wanted in a hoody. Thanks Patagonia and Moosejaw for making my dreams come true.
SO cozy without too much bulk. I can wear it under my parka and still not feel like an over-stuffed sausage. I really could live in this sweater. The hood fits over my head even when I have my (long) hair up! Its not particularly contoured to the body so don't expect a slimming silhouette. I love the snaps on the neckline because zippers tend to pinch my chin. The kangaroo pocket is deep and lined with a mesh material. It does shed a bit, unfortunately, but not too much. That is really the only pitfall. Oh, and the chest pocket is a joke. I'm 5'5 and 115lbs. Ordered a size small. *For the people who shiver to no end in the winter, this sweater is for you.
I've never owned Patagonia before but a friend of mine has one of their fleece jackets and I fell in love with it. Sadly, I had to eventually return her fleece so I bought my own. It is super soft & comfortable. I will be getting this in many colors.
"Perfect for Oregon weather/college student/hipsters"
Lets be real. I'm 19 years old, I walk half a mile in the cold to my classes everyday and most days it rains. I like to be fashionable but sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do. This jacket makes up for it. The retro look fits in perfect into the pacific NW and even makes me look like a hipster when I rock out with my raybans. Thanks MooseJaw & Patagonia, You've done it again.
