"You know how you can't resist petting a puppy? Well, the Patagonia R3 Hiloft Hoody has the same effect on people. Unbelievably soft and uber warm, this is the puppy dog of all insulating pieces. Stretchy side panels allow for maximum mobility and a contoured hood provides secure protection from the elements. Not only is it the most plush hoody I've ever purchased, but it comes in a variety of colors - one to match every mood! ;)"

"cuddle jacket" 05/11/13
Pros: wicks moisture well. The 'furriness' makes wearer extremely huggable. Attractive cut- slimming.Cons: Fuzzy fleece matts up and holds dirt. It needs to be washed often to look nice. With continued use, the sleeve ends become ratty/matted. It offers no wind protection.Bottom line: a good boyfriend jacket, works well with a shell, not very technical or suited for rough environments.
"COMFORTABLE and Warm" 03/28/13
Bought this fleece for my girlfriend and she quickly ditched her North Face Denali (it was a kid's size anyway). It was definitely an upgrade and the R3 is now her favorite fleece jacket. She wears it over t-shirts mostly as a comfy winter/spring grab and go layer, but she claims that it is much warmer than her old Denali. The R3 is the best, most comfortable Patagonia fleece. On top of that - can't beat the social responsibility of the brand!
"Super Soft! Hard to take it off!" 03/26/13
I really liked this jacket. It is very soft and keeps you warm in slightly cold weather. I have been wearing it in 40-50 degree temperature, and you could use it in colder climates as a layer. The jacket is furrier than the photo, and it is a very different material from the North Face Osito Jacket that I also have (From the phot they look similar, but they are not). The best thing about it, is that is is extremely soft, it makes me think I am wearing a "plush" animal as a sweater. The material feel great next to my skin. Also, I liked that it is a longer jacket than many, and it sits at my hips for additional warmth.
"Cute, Soft, Cute, Warm...did I say CUTE?" 03/12/13
I'm a 21 year old female. I ordered the Large, and I am 5'8 187 lbs. The top fits me rather large, but the rest is great. It's so so so soft, I just want to pet it. I haven't taken it off since I've gotten it. The hoodie is form fitting, to ensure wind stays out, which is more practical than stylish. I ordered the white and grey, which compliment each other so well. The white just seems to light up my face, which is a pick-me-up I can use in cold weather/lazy days. I wear a Medium in Northface jackets, but definitely needed a large in this Patagonia hoodie (though my personal body doesnt quite fit fully into the sleeves, upper area).
"I have a fleece obsession." 12/20/12
This fleece is great in hundreds of ways. The second I put it on I loved it. The fit is longer than most. It is form fitting but not overly. The sleeves are roomy (comparable to The Monkey from Mountain Hardware -and other patagonia fleeces). The hood is perfect as well -coverage is unique for a fleece. The pockets are small, and fit on the front abdomen, instead of the side. I just love it. No complaints at all. I bought in light grey. It' soft, doesn't seem to be matting for as much as I've been wearing it. Worth every penny.Pluses- Warm. Full Coverage Hood. Sleeve and waist length. Zippered Pockets. Super Soft.Minuses: Pockets are small and there are only 2.
"The Only Hoody You Need, But Need Many Of!" 05/20/12
I'm on my third Patagonia R3 hoody....this year! I'm practically building a wardrobe around them. In Northern NM at 6,000 feet it can be very warm in the day then drop thirty degrees when the sun goes down, and this has saved me from freezing my a$$ off many evenings! I haven't tried it on the slopes yet; I telemark old school style and unless it's a super frigid day I believe it would be too hot (on the way down anyway), and though it's a technical piece: the stretch fabric along the body and drawcords would lend well to everything from ice climbing to moonlit ice skating,

"The Best!" 04/07/12
This is hands down the best jacket ever. It's warm, its breathable, its damn near windproof. I have worn it under a shell or on its own and remained totally toasty. I'm 5'10'' and 145 lbs and a medium fits perfectly. I love this jacket. If you don't own one, you should buy several.
