"Perfect Jacket for Ohio Climate" 02/07/12
I live in Ohio and I have always had issues with jackets because it can go from 65ish to 40s in a matter of hours. This jacket is perfect for local weather here though. It's almost like it adapts as it needs to. I can feel just perfect in 65ish weather, and also warm and cozy in the 30-40 degree weather. This is my new go to jacket because it can do just about anything.
"Runs short and loose" 01/27/12
I brought this into the backcountry as a warmer layer. However due to its looseness, it was quite a drafty night. Additionally, it runs quite short. I just couldn't seem to stay warm in this jacket on a 50 degree night. I only wear this jacket in the frontcountry now. It is a good fall and spring jacket.
"Nice, but a little thin" 01/17/12
I got the lime green R2 jacket a few months ago. My only real complaint was I thought it would be thicker, similar to my North Face Denali. It is warm, as long as it doesn't need to protect you from the wind. Also, there is no real shape to the jacket. However, it is so soft it has become one of my go to jackets for work.
"Too expensive for what you get" 01/14/12
I am returning this. Beautiful color, but way overpriced for how thin it is. Also too short . I'm 5'6 and it barely touches the top of my jeans. If I raise my arms up a little bit, my belly exposed. I would think it was decent at $80 or less. But for the price its not worth it. I suppose if I were needing it for a layer for hiking, it might be worth keeping (if it were less expensive) but I was just looking for something to wear to and from the gym and am going to pick up a north face khumbu for 1/2 the price of this coat.
"Nice Lightweight layer, runs large but short" 01/05/12
This jacket is short hitting high at the hip (would cover the top button of my lowrider jeans but that is about it). It also seems wide, but this allows for stuffing the pockets to the brim (wallet, keys, cell, shades are not a problem). I could easily stash a volleyball into mine. I am 5'4, 135 lbs, curvy with a 30 inch waist. I ordered the small and am glad I sized down. I am a medium in patagonia jackets and pullovers normally. I could probably fit into an xsmall if I wanted a form fitted look as the side panels stretch, but I would worry about the length of the jacket if I did. Also, there is an embroidered R in a square box about the size of a quarter on the left forearm.
"Bought as a Gift" 11/20/11
I bought this as a gift for my sister and all I can really comment on is how soft the fleece is. It's not that heavy as other have mentioned but I can only imagine the praise I will be receiving for being such a thoughtful and considerate brother.
"Such a comfortable, versatile, and great-looking jacket!" 10/02/11
I have a smaller build (5'3", 115) and the got the x-small - It fits perfectly! There is room underneath for a heavy sweater, etc. yet is form-fitting enough to be used as a layering piece under my winter coats. The sleeves and torso are slightly longer than average. It is definitely cozy - the material is ridiculously soft and it keeps me warm in 50+ degree weather unless it's breezy. Overall, an amazing jacket that is perfect for summer nights, fall, and spring days (in WY). AND it is uber good-looking!
"Good-looking, lightweight fleece" 10/01/11
I like my Acai (bright purple) R2 Jacket, it's good to wear for some warmth. It's a little more lightweight than I would prefer (I'm a weinie when it comes to cold) and no wind protection, but it looks good, is great for layering and is very comfortable. Great for cool days and around the house. Plus, when I wear my Patagonia, people know I'm a boss!
"Flattering, warm, but small pockets :(" 03/04/11
This jacket is extremely flattering (more-so than the older version), and I love the power stretch side panels and elbows. The armpits are roomy without being bunchy (unlike with the older version). Unfortunately, the older R2 has wonderfully huge pockets, and the new version's are extremely tiny in comparison (I can barely fit my whole hand in them!). I ended up choosing the old R2 over this one b/c of the pockets, but it was a really tough call, b/c the new one is better in every other aspect :( As for sizing, I'm 5'3", 110 lbs, and the XS fit well with room for thin layers underneath.
