"Great lightweight, warm jacket...but runs small" 03/22/12
The torso of this jacket is short, but the arm length is fine. Love the color (I got the light green)! It's great for between 35 & 50 degrees. I wear it while I'm in the ice rink when it's warm out because it's not heavy, and it's great for running around doing errands. Probably will be great for spring/fall outdoor adventures...but haven't taken it on one yet. I think next time I'd size up.
"Great, lightweight and perfect for hiking" 05/15/11
This was great for day hikes on my recent trip to Everest Base Camp. It was not bulky and therefore squished easily in my daypack when I wasn't wearing it. Because of its size, it's also quite comfortable to sleep in. Perfect for layers.
"Buy it or you will be sorry!" 05/10/11
This is an amazing jacket! I is super warm and slightly windproof so it take the chill of chilly wind! I have used it several times on climbing/camping trips and it has always served me well! It is super durable, but not constricting or overly puffy in anyway. It is so light and thin I feel like I am wearing a cloud (a warm cloud that is).
"Ideal for Backpacking" 02/21/11
Incredibly warm, and ridiculously light. When you hold it, you would never think it's warm. Once you put it on though, you'll realize that the synthetic insulation will keep you very toasty. It's good alone for +30 degrees F. The Nano Puff is a great layering piece though, so throw a hard shell over it, or a capilene base-layer under it and you'll be warm. It's also very packable for avid backpackers like myself. It'll dry quickly because of the synthetics, thus, if you're traveling, you gotta have this!
"Perfect for climbing in unpredictable weather" 01/07/11
I take this on all my rock climbing trips. Its so small and lightweight that it makes no difference in my pack. Differently from other reviewers, I actually like the boxy fit (with the bottom hem loose, not elasticized) because it allows me to comfortably belay. Ill haveit up in the front, while my back is still covered. When it's my turn to climb, I'm able to pull it off without removing my helmet. When I climb in it It doesn't restrict my movement and the fabric has proved surprisingly durable. Every time the wind blows, you'll be surprised how something so thin and light can be so effective.
"Boxy is right, Elasticized hem not funtional" 12/23/10
I am very amazed at how light the jacket is. I am warm about a minute of wearing it. It is windproof BUT the bottom (waist) opening is hugh and the elasticized ham doesn't narrow the waist and so there is a big cap and wind just keep blowing in through the bottom. The arm is long but I kind of like it because I move around alot and I still have room. But if you want to look fit, you should get 1 size down.
"Light, Compact, Warm." 12/23/10
The Nano is perfect for ultralight backpacking as it is about 10oz and even less weight than its down counterpart which costs $50 more. It is extremely light considering it is synthetic. I recommend this pull-over for a large range of uses as it is not bulky and it has only one pocket. Oh, and its great for layering in more moderate climates.
"Super light but kind of boxy" 11/12/10
I saw a woman in Chicago wearing this during a somewhat cold day last spring. It looked fantastic on her; especially since it didn't look too casual. Say, as casual as a fleece 1/4 zip. I immediately wanted one to wear to work so I could be warm but not overly casual. It's a warm and functional top overall, but I seem to be drowning in it even though I ordered an xs. The sleeves are too long so they bulk up and there's no shape/definition in the waist. The nanopuff jacket however, does have a more defined waist/shape. It is not form fitting and I can wear a layer or possibly two underneath. Nice, but not as good as I expected.
"Great light-weight super warm pullover" 10/31/10
I took this pullover down to Patagonia and Peru in lieu of the puffy I usually use for camping in order to save weight/space. I also used it for some camping in Yosemite, a sort of trial run, and was not at all disappointed. The temperatures dropped below freezing and there were some incredibly strong winds, but my torso was never cold. I also liked that I could comfortably fit it under a waterproof shell for use in the cold rain and snow. It packs down into the pocket, which was great for saving space when backpacking. The only thing I wish it had were some pockets, but that's not a deal-breaker.
"Super Warm" 10/21/10
I have a very active 17 month old and I needed a jacket that was really light weight and warm, that I could throw in the backpack or stroller during our adventures. This jacket is perfect! I love that it folds up into a little pocket and it is most definitely warm (I find myself taking it off more than putting it on because I get too hot, can't wait for colder weather so I can keep it on). I did get to put it to the test in the Adirondacks recently when we got snow and rain, it was perfect under my shell!!!
