The Women's Nano Puff Jacket by Patagonia. Windproof and water-resistant, the Nano PuffJacket is warm, incredibly lightweight, highly compressible and can be worn as insulation or outerwear in cold climates. Through my study of ancient outdoor-performance-wear-ese, I have determined that "nano puff" translates to "little cloud." Who wouldn't want to wear a jacket of little clouds? Nobody, that's who.

Women's Fit Guide Details & Info

Patagonia's measurements refer to body size and NOT garment dimensions. Sorry for yelling about it.

Each Patagonia product is designed and shaped specifically for its intended use, and below are their generalized four fit descriptions, and details about each fit. The Patagonia fit for each style can be found in the product description features or specifications.

• Conforms to the body's contours.

• Closer-fitting. Slim-fitting technical garments may be worn over baselayers and light midlayers.

• Neither slim nor oversized. Regular-fitting technical garments may be worn over heavier midlayers. Men's regular fit pants have a slimmer fit through that thigh, lower leg, and cuff.

• Drapes loosely on the body. Men's relaxed fit pants have a bit of extra room through the hip, thigh, lower, and cuff.

• Boxy, athletic, with a traditional crew neck.

• Formfitting and longer in the torso, with a wider, deeper neck (not quite scoop).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Yumminess I wore this under a shell and over long underwear and a light fleece on a 10-degrees-at-the-lift day. Everything wicked beautifully, and I was instantly awed by whatever magic dust they sprinkle over the nano. Adding a heavy fleece will probably bring this up to -10-at-the-lift day warmth.,,,,I submerged a sleeve for 1/2 hour and yes, it got damp, but it didn't lose its loft. What's up with that? So the nano will also be perfect for the freaky warm storms we've had lately. ,,,,No one else is making anything this functional, and there's always Moosejaw so I don't have to shrink at the pricer, so I think there's more P-gear in my future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All pros that everybody say about Nano is true! Review from Pasadena, CA. I bought this jacket Fall of 2010 and used it for biking, walking my dog at night and took it to Tahoe snowboard trip. Winter of 2010 in LA (Pasadena) was very chilly compare to normal year, but with this light, comfy and warm jacket. Things were easy. I don't need to say much because everybody else said enough about the jacket. And oh yes, Tahoe snowboard trip on February 2011... I wore a base layer and this under my snowboard jacket, and I was pretty warm. Seriously a good jacket!,,,,For size, I'm 5', 113lbs, and got XS. Fits great, but still has some room for layering under the jacket.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Don't love it enough to keep it ! :( I am a big fan of Patagonia, but this jacket didn't do it for me. I purchased a small in Flash Pink and it was huge on me- I am 5'6", 115lbs, it is a regular fit so it isn't slim compared to most Patagonia jackets. I also expected it to be much warmer, even when trying on with layers it didn't seem warm enough even for the fall in Michigan. The jacket has a lot of great reviews and a lot of pros such as the awesome color selection, it's water resistant and windproof. It also has ample pocket space as well as the ease of stuffing it into the chest pocket for portability. My suggestion is if you want this jacket go down a size and pay a little extra to get the Nano Puff Hoody ;)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from EXCELLENT Insulation layer--super compactable Though I've only used my nano puff so far as an insulating layer for snowboarding and ice climbing, it has been a blessing! The jacket is so light you forget you have it on, but so warm that it's been warmer than my 200 weight fleece jacket. With the ability to fold the jacket into it's pocket and clip it on to carabiners, this is the most versatile piece of insulation that I own and I look forward to using it for climbing, etc. in the spring. What I like about the full zip better than the pullover is that the waist pockets are so useful for storing mittens, etc. while remaining easy to get into and out of AND the full zip allows for plenty of options for unzipping to cool down.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Jacket Ever I adore this jacket. it is so warm, but so lightweight. It is great for travel because it packs up so small. If it is really cold I will wear this under another coat because it is so warm, but fits like a sweatshirt. The size is a bit tricky, I normally wear a medium, but that makes it tight if I have a heavy sweater under it. That is why I have two, one for heavy items underneath (L) and one for thinner base layers (M). I can't say enough good things about this jacket. My husband has it also and loves it. The addition of the full and zipper and side pockets makes it perfect.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wearing it into the ground! I've been traveling for two months in varied conditions, and this jacket has seen me through huge temperature changes, multiple days without a shower, and active adventure. As a layering piece, it provides just enough warmth for everything but the most freezing of temps. It works over a t-shirt to take the chill off. I've slept in it many nights camping and it kept me plenty warm. It's washed up well. It has a couple of small snags but hey, I deserved those, the way I treat this thing.,,,,And it's feather light. And the safety cone orange color rocks for visibility.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the jacket It isn't super warm at first but seems to insulate well. As you move it just seems to hold the heat in remarkably well. I bought two one with and one without a hoody. I use both. They are convient for days when you will be out all day and know the evening will get cool but don't want to lug around a heavy jacket. The hood does add extra bulk when you are thinking compressibility. I fit the large but I went with the x-large for more layering options. But a smaller size that fits snug to your body will insulate better. Sizing was the toughest decission.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! I own the Nano Puff vest and wear it often so decided to buy the jacket. I chose the Forge Grey, and love the color as an alternative to black. Lining in a bright fuschia shade is perfect for me too. So light weight! Great for packing and travel and best of all...it looks fantastic on. I'll be wearing this a lot. I wear Women's size 6-8 and the small fits perfectly with a little room to spare for the vest or heavy sweater underneath if especially cold. Could probably wear the XS too (without vest or sweater) if you like a tighter, sleeker look.
