The Women's Nano Puff Jacket by Patagonia. Windproof and water-resistant, the Nano PuffJacket is warm, incredibly lightweight, highly compressible and can be worn as insulation or outerwear in cold climates. Through my study of ancient outdoor-performance-wear-ese, I have determined that "nano puff" translates to "little cloud." Who wouldn't want to wear a jacket of little clouds? Nobody, that's who.

"This jacket keeps me warm and allows me to move around without looking like a marshmallow." 01/25/12
Love this jacket. I have several patagonia and north face puff jackets, however this is my go to coat. It allows me to move around easily and it's thin enough to look stylish. I can't believe I stay so warm with it...and only wear a thin t shirt underneath. Wish there were more colors!
"I LOVE THIS" 04/24/11
I bought this right before a spring break trip to Alaska. It was perfect! I put on a good base layer and this jacket, and was pretty warm! The wind wasn't blowing too much, but when it did I could hardly tell, this jacket kept the wind out. I would definitely recommend it to someone else!
"EXCELLENT Insulation layer--super compactable" 02/16/11
Though I've only used my nano puff so far as an insulating layer for snowboarding and ice climbing, it has been a blessing! The jacket is so light you forget you have it on, but so warm that it's been warmer than my 200 weight fleece jacket. With the ability to fold the jacket into it's pocket and clip it on to carabiners, this is the most versatile piece of insulation that I own and I look forward to using it for climbing, etc. in the spring. What I like about the full zip better than the pullover is that the waist pockets are so useful for storing mittens, etc. while remaining easy to get into and out of AND the full zip allows for plenty of options for unzipping to cool down.
"All pros that everybody say about Nano is true!" 02/15/11
Review from Pasadena, CA. I bought this jacket Fall of 2010 and used it for biking, walking my dog at night and took it to Tahoe snowboard trip. Winter of 2010 in LA (Pasadena) was very chilly compare to normal year, but with this light, comfy and warm jacket. Things were easy. I don't need to say much because everybody else said enough about the jacket. And oh yes, Tahoe snowboard trip on February 2011... I wore a base layer and this under my snowboard jacket, and I was pretty warm. Seriously a good jacket! For size, I'm 5', 113lbs, and got XS. Fits great, but still has some room for layering under the jacket.
"This jacket is adorable and awesome" 02/14/11
I bought this jacket for my mom for a Christmas present. I own the mens version and have used it for years in the field for work and also for play. Its held up wonderfully, kept me extremely warm in windy conditions and is just great considering its weight! Although its fairly water resistant, in really wet, cold weather its perfect under a shell. The womens version is very feminine and cute for a night out on the town as well.
"Yumminess" 01/29/11
I wore this under a shell and over long underwear and a light fleece on a 10-degrees-at-the-lift day. Everything wicked beautifully, and I was instantly awed by whatever magic dust they sprinkle over the nano. Adding a heavy fleece will probably bring this up to -10-at-the-lift day warmth.I submerged a sleeve for 1/2 hour and yes, it got damp, but it didn't lose its loft. What's up with that? So the nano will also be perfect for the freaky warm storms we've had lately. No one else is making anything this functional, and there's always Moosejaw so I don't have to shrink at the pricer, so I think there's more P-gear in my future.
"Best Jacket Ever" 01/28/11
I adore this jacket. it is so warm, but so lightweight. It is great for travel because it packs up so small. If it is really cold I will wear this under another coat because it is so warm, but fits like a sweatshirt. The size is a bit tricky, I normally wear a medium, but that makes it tight if I have a heavy sweater under it. That is why I have two, one for heavy items underneath (L) and one for thinner base layers (M). I can't say enough good things about this jacket. My husband has it also and loves it. The addition of the full and zipper and side pockets makes it perfect.
"The best little all around jacket ever" 01/16/11
I purchased this jacket for my mom for christmas after owning my own for two years. This jacket is amazing!! For it's size and volume it's surprisingly warm and is relatively nothing to pack. It's also windproof and fairly water resistant. It you layer it over a base and under a shell, you're set to go on a cold snowy wet day. I've put mine through some pretty rigorous testing while using it for work and play and its held up. It's also very flattering and can be worn out for a night on the town!
"Mysteriously warm.." 12/08/10
I'm still not sure how something so lightweight could be so warm, but I really like this jacket. It's not the best for wet weather but I often throw a rain jacket or shell over the top. This jacket has been great for biking in the fall. I wish the sleeves were just a bit longer.
