"Very Sleek" 11/04/10
It is the kinda jacket you can wear at the bar of a fancy restaurant one minute and be out backpacking on a windy ridge the next with it. It fits in all situations. Very wind resistant. If you are looking for insulation I'd say go with the nano puff. But when your hiking in the summer or fall and your get on top of the ridge where the wind might be strong where you almost can't stand up and halve to do the duck and run between wind gusts this is the perfect jacket.
"Good for everything" 06/24/10
I bought this jacket because it moves well, is relatively light, and I feel like a badass when I wear it. Its weight is a big pro or big con depending on what you want to use it for; it will keep you completely happy as long as you're engaged in any type of activity. Because it's thinner than a lot of similar jackets, you won't be sweating and gasping for air; however, it's just light enough that it may not be warm enough to wear in a snowstorm by itself. I'm 5'4, about 115 lbs and use an XS.
"Great for fall and winter activities if you are involved in active sports." 02/01/10
I love, love, love this jacket. I have used it skiing with good base layer... and it did great. Finally, they made a jacket with good arm length and range of motion abilities. I bought the lightweight R4 in black and I can even wear it as a warm "sweatshirt" at my job... it looks professional and well cut. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a great all around activity jacket, as well as a super comfy casual look jacket.
"Every active human should own one!" 03/18/09
This is an amazing jacket and layering piece. It is 100% windproof...however, there is lightweight material (R1) in the pits so if you are wearing it out casually your pits can get cold! If you are not an active person I recommend the regular R4 as you will eliminate that problem!
"This is an great jacket for multiple uses" 03/15/09
I love this jacket, the size is perfect for us women who are small on top, the sleeves aren't too narrow on my wrists like the Arcteryx jackets I've tried, and its an excellent weight for wearing year round. I took it on a trip to Peru and it was great for hiking, wearing around the city, and for airport traveling. My boyfriend has the same jacket in the men's version and agrees its wonderful.
"Amazing! Warm for a lightweight jacket." 10/08/08
I wore this jacket for the first time tonight and it was so warm! Actually it was almost too warm because i was inside but it's too cute to take off. If someone wants a thin really warm jacket I would get this one.
"This brightly colored jacket will keep you warm and not let you down!" 01/11/08
This light weight women’s R4 jacket is surprisingly warm for how lightweight and wind proof it is. The color I got was safety green and let me tell you wearing this color you will not be missed. It took me a little while to get used to how bright it is but my husband thinks it is super cute. It is a very high performing well fitting jacket. It even takes into consideration the arm pits that Patagonia uses a thin R1 fabric that lets them breathe and arms can move around very well. I got this jacket and had to immediately put it on and stand out in the wind to try it out because of how thin and light weight it it.
