The Patagonia Houdini Pant is a water-resistant pant for trail running in drizzling weather. The Houdini is made of 100% nylon ripstop fabric with a durable water repellent finish. The featherweight material makes it possible for them to weigh in at only 3.1 ounces, so they're barely there while you're focusing on the trail, foot placement, and pacing. The zippered rear pocket holds onto your keys while on the move, but also double as a stuff sack for the whole pant when the rain clouds clear and the sun appears. Clip 'em to your pack or toss 'em into your shorts pocket and continue on with your run.

Super lightI bought these pants with the intention of using them as a wind proof layer for ultralight hiking. I haven't put them to the test quite yet, but yesterday we had an insanely windy day so I put them on and stood in my front yard. Turns out they block wind really, really well. They also have a nice slim fit. I'm 5'6" and 118 pounds and female so I was hesitant about using something sized for men. I bought the size small and found the pants roomy but not too long. The waist is slightly too large but the pants have a nice elastic drawstring which can be tied in a knot keeping it snug at my belly button. I have slim hips and regular-length legs so anyone curvy or with longer legs may want to size up.

Do not last longI bought this one month ago. Used it twice for a trip in the mountains. The second trip was fatal. I felt down on rocks: ripped off with two holes. Patagonia replaces or repairs, luckily. Despite this, light, confortable, and windproof. Did not feel cold with -12°C outside.
