Women's Fit Guide Details & Info

Patagonia's measurements refer to body size and NOT garment dimensions. Sorry for yelling about it.

Each Patagonia product is designed and shaped specifically for its intended use, and below are their generalized four fit descriptions, and details about each fit. The Patagonia fit for each style can be found in the product description features or specifications.

• Conforms to the body's contours.

• Closer-fitting. Slim-fitting technical garments may be worn over baselayers and light midlayers.

• Neither slim nor oversized. Regular-fitting technical garments may be worn over heavier midlayers. Men's regular fit pants have a slimmer fit through that thigh, lower leg, and cuff.

• Drapes loosely on the body. Men's relaxed fit pants have a bit of extra room through the hip, thigh, lower, and cuff.

• Boxy, athletic, with a traditional crew neck.

• Formfitting and longer in the torso, with a wider, deeper neck (not quite scoop).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm and Stylish!!! This is the first Patagonia I've purchased and I absolutely LOVE it!! I first bought it in the narwhal grey, but after wearing it for about an hour, I decided I wanted the cream color instead and I absolutely love it. The price was a little more than I wanted to spend, but it was definitely worth it. I am 5' 2", 120 lbs and I usually wear a small in jackets. I bought a North Face jacket first but it was just too small. This jacket is a little roomier but still flattering. You could wear a sweatshirt under it with no problem and not look like a bloated pig. I would recommend this fleece to anybody looking for a warm fleece for the winter.,,

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Funny armhole shaping, but good jacket overall Having been spooked by the "slim fit" notation in the catalog copy, initially I ordered a medium, but I returned it for the small which is a good fit. Great snuggly fabric, works nicely as a sweater-equivalent. I'm not too sure what the "cross-dyed espresso and whatever-all" means in the fabric color (though I do know what cross-dyed means, being neck-deep in the textile industry), because there's nothing cross-dyed about it - this sucker is off-white. The only thing that troubles me about this jacket is the cut of the armholes - it's a modified drop shoulder, and it doesn't quite work in this fabric - there's excess fabric bunching at the armpit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super soft, super comfy, super warm... I got the retool hoodie about a year ago and wore it almost every day last winter. After countless times through the washer it still looks brand new. Decided to break down and buy the zip up version on sale and it was definitely well worth it This is by far the best fleece I've ever owned. The fit is great....very slightly fitted but overall super comfy, so don't be put off by the "slim fit" description. I'm 5'10, 155 lbs and got a medium. I was pleasantly surprised that the sleeves were actually long enough for me and the cut isn't too short, it falls just below my hip. Get one while they're still on sale!!! You won't regret it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Jacket for a Winter like this! I live in the Northeast and unless you've been living under a rock, you'll know that we've had quite the cold, snowy/icey winter. I purchased this fleece at the end of November and have used it as my winter jacket this season. It is warm and comfortable, yet durable. I only noticed a chill when it was windy out, and used it as an outer layer for several hikes.,,I'm 5'8'' 125 pounds, and a Medium was perfect. Roomy enough to fit a bulky sweater underneath, without looking frumpy. This is my first Patagonia fleece and certainly will not be my last. ,,Highly recommended, you will not be disappointed!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautifully feminine--yet rugged & warm! Fit allows for under-layering without feeling hog-tied! Excited from the moment of delivery! Opened it in the office: Amazingly stunning purple! It was even more beautiful than I imagined! I coaxed it out of the protective over-wrap--and I melted just like butter (you should have seen the mess I had to clean up!) I have always admired my friends Patagonia products from afar--just never imagined actually having my hands on such a beautiful jacket! I live just outside of Chicago, (in a lake-effect snow belt.) Believe me, this jacket is perfect for those "in-between" warm/cold kind of days! Try this jacket--you'll wonder why you waited so long to purchase it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best looking/feeling fleece jacket ever! This is the softest, warmest fleece jacket I've ever owned. I am 5'6'', 130 lbs and own a size small in Patagonia's synchilla marsupial and it fits perfect. However, I ordered a size small in this jacket and it was little too snug through the midsection for my liking. So I returned it for a medium which fits much better. I read some reviews that the arms were too short, but I found it to be opposite. I have long arms, but the sleeves even in the small size went past my wrists. I ordered the narwhal grey color but was concerned about it being a purple-y grey since it's woven with the beluga color, but it's not purple looking at all. It's a nice, neutral grey color that looks perfect.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Soft & Cuddly I bought this because I needed a fleece, and the sale could not be beat for my chance at owning a Patagonia. Turquoise is my favorite color, so this fleece caught my eye in particular. When I received it, it fit perfectly! I'm 5'5" and normally wear an XL, but opted for the Large since I don't like bulky fleeces. Glad I went with the Large - perfect for wearing under my Burton Eleanor snowboarding jacket. The combo keeps me extra warm. Plus, this fleece and great as is - it's perfect for cooler days where a heavy coat just won't suffice. I highly recommend this for anyone in the market for a fleece.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very pleased. I wasn't sure if I would like having pockets without zippers on a jacket or the slim fit. However, I have found both not to be an issue. The outer pockets are deep. Also, if you open the jacket, one of the pockets has a pouch lining so you could slip something in there. As far as the slim-fit goes, I was surprised by how much room I had to move. I am 5', 120 lbs; the medium size hits me slightly above my hips. I could wear a medium-weight sweater underneath and still have space to move. I like the fleece material of the jacket: it looks thick and feels lush, but it is not stiff. My one gripe: if you zip the jacket all the way up, it's a little too tall for my neck so it feels tight.
