I love this coat! Although it didn't get a lot of use last season with the unseasonably warm weather in PA, I have made up for it already this year. It is a few years old and has held up, still looking brand new. It is the warmest weight coat...almost like wearing a very comfortable light sleeping bag, but it is so light, it does not inhibit any motion. From hiking the dog, to sledding, to wearing to the store, this one gets an A+.

This jacket has a great fit (i got a small), plenty of room for layers but still fits well and doesn't look baggy if this is all I wear. The fabric holds up to wear and tear better than I had expected. The hood fits great and really keeps my head warm. I don't have the longest legs but i did find it a little lengthy at times. I would buy this again in a heart beat. I had an older Northface parka with 600 fill down but this jacket seems to keep out the wind much better. Not Waterproof!
I call this my "duty coat" because I'm a teacher and bought if for recess duty in the winter months. It's amazing and so warm. It feels like I'm wearing a down sleeping bag-and I'm saying that in a good way. Very comfortable and I wear it out on the town as well. The quilting adds a lot to the overall look of the jacket. I'm a Patagonia medium in almost everything (including the thinner Fiona down jacket) and I'm a medium in this coat. Easy to wash as well.
"Absolute Perfect Down Coat - Warm & Flattering!"

I have worn this coat for 2 winters: in howling Michigan snowstorms, at ski races in Deer Valley powder, running errands, walking the dog, even as a blanket on an 8 hour drive. Regardless of what’s happening, this is my winter go-to-coat. Best of all, while toasty warm, I do NOT look like a blob. Hate that look! At 5'2' & 110 lbs, Small fits perfectly. Thin diagonal quilting on this coat is flattering and the fit overall, while thankfully slimmer than most, is still comfortable. Hemline hits knees & sleeves are also long enough. So if you have been looking for a warm, flattering down coat, slip into this Patagonia, wrap a scarf around your neck and stride off into winter with confidence!
I recently bought this coat to replace a similar long black down coat from Patagonia, which I had loved and worn for the past six years. I was hoping for a more fitted version of that, and the Down With it Parka is exactly that. Not only is it warm and comfortable, but the fit is perfect through the body and sleeves. This coat is great for being outdoors in the Michigan weather- and I would highly recommend this and any other Patagonia gear, because they are simply the best.
"Bought for Girlfriend - I love it / She loves it!!!!!!"

I bought this coat off the hanger for my girlfriend Sarah. Skeptical on sizes, I loved the cut and look of this coat. This is now Sarah's "Go To" coat on anything colder than 32 degrees. In fact, we were out skating one day and her words were "I'm sweating under this thing and I'm only wearing a T-Shirt".Bottom Line - Love the Coat. Recommend to all friends and family. Recommend to those who dont have heat.Chris
I have seen this coat look great on tall thin people. I am short and average weight (5'2 and 125 lbs) and I look bad in this coat. A longer jacket would be better. THe material for Patagonia product was not the best. I prefer other designs such as the UPTOWN Jacket which came out fall 2011) this is long enough for warmth, but short enough to look great!Curvy waist also flattering. Material looks good (not so shiny)
Oh love love love this coat. You will too. It has all we ladies need for our winter days in the snow and blowing cold. Too bad if you too live it this climate. It's just long enough. Fits great. Great deep pockets and inside secret pocket too. Buy it, you'll thank me for telling you about it!
I purchased this coat because I needed a warm brown coat. I searched high and low, then I came across this beauty. Michigan has bi-polar weather and it could snow anytime now. I love that it has a hood and how it's fitted. I purchased the Small (I'm 5'6, 114) and it comes down to my knees. Perfect length, gorgeous brown color (a shade before chocolate) and most of it..it's WARM! If you don't buy this, then you don't know what cool is. (This is coming from a teacher.=) )
I have been in the market for a super warm, longer winter coat. I bought this and The North Face Arctic Parka online to try them and compare them. I thought that the way it is designed with the lines coming in at the waist, it might be better than a lot of down coats that make you look like a blob. I also read many great reviews for it. While this one seemed quite warm and was easy to move it, it didn't quite fit right. If you are curvy, you may also have some problems with the fit of this coat. It was quite unflattering. I did try the North Face one, which fit a lot better and will be sticking with that one instead.
