Women's Fit Guide Details & Info

Patagonia's measurements refer to body size and NOT garment dimensions. Sorry for yelling about it.

Each Patagonia product is designed and shaped specifically for its intended use, and below are their generalized four fit descriptions, and details about each fit. The Patagonia fit for each style can be found in the product description features or specifications.

• Conforms to the body's contours.

• Closer-fitting. Slim-fitting technical garments may be worn over baselayers and light midlayers.

• Neither slim nor oversized. Regular-fitting technical garments may be worn over heavier midlayers. Men's regular fit pants have a slimmer fit through that thigh, lower leg, and cuff.

• Drapes loosely on the body. Men's relaxed fit pants have a bit of extra room through the hip, thigh, lower, and cuff.

• Boxy, athletic, with a traditional crew neck.

• Formfitting and longer in the torso, with a wider, deeper neck (not quite scoop).

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Warm but had some problems with fit I have been in the market for a super warm, longer winter coat. I bought this and The North Face Arctic Parka online to try them and compare them. I thought that the way it is designed with the lines coming in at the waist, it might be better than a lot of down coats that make you look like a blob. I also read many great reviews for it. While this one seemed quite warm and was easy to move it, it didn't quite fit right. If you are curvy, you may also have some problems with the fit of this coat. It was quite unflattering. I did try the North Face one, which fit a lot better and will be sticking with that one instead.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great looking, slim, flattering fit, light-weight warmth I purchased the XS (0/2) which is perfect for my 5'4", 113# build. I'm at the top size in the hip but there's some wiggle room. The sable brown is a very nice, med. brown w/hint of golden tone in sunlight ~ love the color. The hangtag on my coat has some important information that I wish I'd had before hand: slim fit - closer-fitting (slim-fitting technical garments may be worn over baselayers & light midlayers). If you want to really bulk up, order up a size. If wearing thinner, warm layers underneath, stick with your size; it might be too baggy otherwise. The hood fits great; this will be amazing this winter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolute Perfect Down Coat - Warm & Flattering! I have worn this coat for 2 winters: in howling Michigan snowstorms, at ski races in Deer Valley powder, running errands, walking the dog, even as a blanket on an 8 hour drive. Regardless of what’s happening, this is my winter go-to-coat. Best of all, while toasty warm, I do NOT look like a blob. Hate that look! At 5'2' & 110 lbs, Small fits perfectly. Thin diagonal quilting on this coat is flattering and the fit overall, while thankfully slimmer than most, is still comfortable. Hemline hits knees & sleeves are also long enough. So if you have been looking for a warm, flattering down coat, slip into this Patagonia, wrap a scarf around your neck and stride off into winter with confidence!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm, light, looks great for a long down coat. After years of freezing my lower half in our long Chicago winters, I finally bit the bullet and bought a long coat. Tried it out tonight in 30 degree temps while walking the dog--it kept me toasty warm. It is somewhat slim fitting but fit fine with a non-bulky fleece sweater underneath. I went with a medium as the other Patagonia pieces I own(a hoody and a technical fleece jacket) are also medium. The waist pockets are plenty big enough, and there is an inside chest pocket too. Can't wait to wear it all winter. The slim cut will save me from looking like the Michelin man, which is a plus.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from If you're not looking to shred the gnar, but still want to stay warm and look good while doing it! This jacket has a great fit (i got a small), plenty of room for layers but still fits well and doesn't look baggy if this is all I wear. The fabric holds up to wear and tear better than I had expected. The hood fits great and really keeps my head warm. I don't have the longest legs but i did find it a little lengthy at times. I would buy this again in a heart beat. I had an older Northface parka with 600 fill down but this jacket seems to keep out the wind much better. Not Waterproof!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from oh patagonia, how close you are, but miss every time like a few of my other pat jackets, the neck is super tight, and i love to put my chin inside my jacket on frigid -10 degree days. the hood is fabulous, but i hate those crappy neoprene cinchers, so i replaced them with good ol toggles and now the hood stays tight. otherwise, it fits sort of slim, so i stayed with my usual medium (5'8, 135 lbs) (sometimes i size down to small).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from warm, fitted, fashinalbe jacket! I am a big fan of North face (sorry~).,,patagonia padding jacket fits slimmer than NF.,,Most of women sometimes think more how it looks rather than how functional it is.,,this is it!,,If you are looking for a down padding warm and nice fitted looking, go for it.,,This does not have too much room around your upper arm area like other(?) brand and feels more fitted to your body when you are wearing a same small size (I am 5'4'' and 120lbs) and still comfortable and warm.,,however it is little thinner than NF and NF is warmer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Warm and tight in the ass Great color (sable brown), warm even with cold winds. But cut for a girlish figure, not a woman's curves. You might want to order up a size if you've got some padding where it counts.
