The Women's Down Sweater Vest by Patagonia is your go-to piece for light weight insulation. Impossible to confuse with the sweater vests found at golf courses and bingo parlors, ours comes packed with ultra-toasty 800-fill down that traps heat in alpine conditions. It has a minimalist design that practically floats, and is so compact it stuffs into its own stretch-mesh internal pocket (with a carabiner clip-in loop). The innovative, superlight 100% all-recycled polyester shell (1.4-oz 22-denier) with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish provides wind and water protection as well as a high tear-strength; quilting stabilizes the down. With zippered handwarmer pockets, a drawcord hem and strategically placed quilting in the torso and neck for a feminine silhouette.

"I have owned it for 4 years and no signs of wear and tear" 01/24/12
I bought this vest on a whim. It is a bit expensive but I have gotten everything out of it. I wear it in the back country or throw it on as an extra layer in the front country. I wear it A LOT and it has NO signs of wear and tear. Bottom line is: patagonia makes great gear.

I wear my vest more often then not and love it however, I wish I bought it in a darker color. The material easily absorbs liquid thus leaving water marks after its dry. I recommend buying a dark color so it is not as visible. The material is surprisingly very durable and the fit is over sized for layering. Great for any outdoor or urban use!

This vest is fantastic. It is not too puffy and the pearl (off-white) is not too shiny. You can kinda see the down through this color though, but it still looks good. I wish the pockets were fleece lined, but it is actually very warm and cozy.

This was much lighter and less puffy than I was expecting, which was perfect! Great to pair with a long sleeve shirt on a 50-60 degree windy Chicago day. Blocks the wind and keeps you toasty! I'm only 5'0 and the XS is the perfect size/length if you're going for the slim and fitted look. I could see it being annoyingly short if you were a lot taller though. Overall, great buy and Patagonia is worth every penny, as always!

Purchased this vest in white, it is the perfect color and weight for fall. It's a slim fit but still keeps you warm without being too puffy and uncomfortable.Looks great with anything!

This vest has a good amount of warmth, but has a slim profile, so you can easily wear a shell/windbreaker on top. The length is a little on the short side, but works for a vest that you wear as part of your layering system (5'7", XS size vest). The internal stuff pockets works very well. I find myself reaching for it every day, and when I need some extra insurance in the mornings while breaking camp.

I already own two of these sweater vests and cant seem to resist the urge to add another to my collection. They are that yummy. They are oh so warm and oh so light. By that I mean zero bulk and a pleasure to slip into. I could easily justify having one in every color and could guarantee I would wear them ALL!
