Women's Fit Guide Details & Info

Patagonia's measurements refer to body size and NOT garment dimensions. Sorry for yelling about it.

Each Patagonia product is designed and shaped specifically for its intended use, and below are their generalized four fit descriptions, and details about each fit. The Patagonia fit for each style can be found in the product description features or specifications.

• Conforms to the body's contours.

• Closer-fitting. Slim-fitting technical garments may be worn over baselayers and light midlayers.

• Neither slim nor oversized. Regular-fitting technical garments may be worn over heavier midlayers. Men's regular fit pants have a slimmer fit through that thigh, lower leg, and cuff.

• Drapes loosely on the body. Men's relaxed fit pants have a bit of extra room through the hip, thigh, lower, and cuff.

• Boxy, athletic, with a traditional crew neck.

• Formfitting and longer in the torso, with a wider, deeper neck (not quite scoop).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from almost perfect i was thrilled to see a hooded down sweater this year, as I love my regular down sweaters; however, I am a little bit disappointed that there isnt a cinch cord for the hood. there is volume adjustment, which makes the jacket worth keeping, but i guess i have a small head/face that the hood is just a tad big, even with volume adjustments. Definitely fit true to size, Im always a small in patagonia and small fit great. If you are not familiar with patagonia, they tend to run short in length, as a 5'8 girl, Ive stopped complaining, but they are pretty darn short. Oh, I also love how high the collar is when the jacket is zipped up all the way!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable, Light Weight, WARM, and Stylish Down Jacket The Patagonia down jacket is by far the best jacket that I have bought. It is extremely light weight and highly compressible. You hardly feel like you are wearing a low temp jacket. It is ultra light and highly compressable, getting it down to about 5 inches by 4 inches!,,This jacket stuffs down into its own inner pocket, which makes it very easy to bring along with you backpacking or car camping. It rarely looses a feather, and is quite stylish. I have had it now for a few weeks and wear it regularly. Well worth the price and my favorite down jacket thus far.,,As for moosejaw, my gear came quick and hassle free!!,,,,Go Moosejaw - WHOOT WHOOT!!!!,,,,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well worth the price! This jacket is the greatest thing on Earth! I wore it around casually for a while (to and from class, to the grocery store) and it was fine. Then I decided to really test it out hiking in the mountains in Massachusetts in January. I packed it in my my suitcase and cringed thinking there was no way that I would be warm enough but I figured I'd give it a go. Holy moley, was I pleasantly surprised! The fact that it is so thin is actually great because you get free movement of your body and you don't feel like the Michelin Man but you don't lose the warmth factor. Well worth the price! Another awesome Patagonia product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from kayaking, snowboarding, all exercise!!! I LOVE this coat! I bought the down sweater hoody because I was looking for something light and less bulky than my other down. I read many of the reviews and feared that this would be too wide across the middle (I'm 5 foot 5, 135 pounds on a good day) I've found that this has a nicely shaped fit - comfortable, but not baggy, shaped, not fitted. Another thing I appreciate about this jacket is the fact that the sleeves are long enough - FINALLY!! This coat is great for anything technical, or simply driving around, seatbelted, and not constricted. Fantastic Patagonia, and Moosejaw, you're always the best!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great idea, but didn't fit! I really liked this jacket when I first got it, but I am usually a small for most companies, and the small for Patagonia fit like a medium - was too big in the width of the jacket, and even when I layered it didn't help too much. I am 5'4" and 135 pounds, and because of the fit I had to return it. If I could have kept it had it fit, I would have really liked the large hood that I could fit over my helmet for warm skiing days, and the lightweight feeling of it would have been great for those "not-so-bitter" winter days. The green color was really nice, but a little lighter than what I thought it was going to be - more of an aqua. Wish that it had fit so I didn't have to return it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing. This is hands down the best jacket I've purchased in years. When I first got it, I was concerned that the down was too light to keep me warm in cold temps, but on the contrary – it insulates your body heat and keeps you cozy. I also get tons of compliments on the style. It's fitted enough to to keep you from feeling like the Michelin Man, and my blue colored jacket also stands out. I wear it easily during the day, out to dinner, skiing, to work, etc. It's great year round. I highly recommend – this jacket has completely streamlined my outerwear choices. And the out-of-season deal is hard to beat!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very warm, lightweight, stylish I debated several down jackets before finally choosing this one, and I'm very satisfied. I have worn it this winter in Seattle, Denver, and Phoenix [damp cold and dry cold], and was always warm in it. It's fantastic for both street-style and for outdoor activities, but beware that the soft shell exterior does not hold up to rough treatment. I recently wore it on a climbing trip, and snagged it several times during the approach through some brush [dumb move on my part]; now there are a couple spots with feathers poking thru. Otherwise, amazing jacket!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I ordered this jacket in the feather grey, it is not only a gorgeous color, but so soft to touch! I had reserverations to begin with as this jacket seemed so thin and couldn't believe it would hold up in such cold temperatures in Iowa! I was indeed very wrong, it is fantastic, i walk my lab numerous times a day and it is incrediby warm and so soft and comfortable. It's also a great jacket to layer too if needed. The hood is not at all bulky, in fact it sits so neat behind your head you don't even know its there. Very comfortable to drive in with no bulk. The best investment i made this winter, by far!
