DWR tech

Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

PrimaLoft insulations and fabrics

PrimaLoft was originally developed to serve as a water resistant, synthetic alternative to goose down for the U.S. Army. Since then PrimaLoft has been a leader in insulation and fabric technologies in the outdoor industry, and is used by the top outerwear and clothing brands to craft pieces that offer warmth without bulky weight, packablity, and both water resistance and breathability for all your outdoor adventures.

Women's Fit Guide Details & Info

Patagonia's measurements refer to body size and NOT garment dimensions. Sorry for yelling about it.

Each Patagonia product is designed and shaped specifically for its intended use, and below are their generalized four fit descriptions, and details about each fit. The Patagonia fit for each style can be found in the product description features or specifications.

• Conforms to the body's contours.

• Closer-fitting. Slim-fitting technical garments may be worn over baselayers and light midlayers.

• Neither slim nor oversized. Regular-fitting technical garments may be worn over heavier midlayers. Men's regular fit pants have a slimmer fit through that thigh, lower leg, and cuff.

• Drapes loosely on the body. Men's relaxed fit pants have a bit of extra room through the hip, thigh, lower, and cuff.

• Boxy, athletic, with a traditional crew neck.

• Formfitting and longer in the torso, with a wider, deeper neck (not quite scoop).

Rated 3 out of 5 by from DOES THE JOB! But you may look like a neon turtle. If you tend to fair on the cold side, this jacket is for you. No doubt youll be warm and toasty. While I wanted to love this jacket (cool name, warmest synthetic patagonia, designed for awesome climber babes) I cant seem to get over a few things.... 1) The fit: I know its designed for function not fashion but the fit could be slightly more flattering. Its kind of bulky, err everywhere, and long. I am petite so I felt like I was swimming in it. Note: the baffles on the neck are nice and I do like the 2 way zipper for belaying. 2) The color: UHH THE COLOR! Come on patagonia: its not fair! Why should the mens colors be way more attractive. So basically as a female my only options for this jacket are to choose the GREENEST and shiniest color you ever saw with an awkward fit or pick PLAIN BLACK throughout the entire jacket with an awkward fit. Perhaps a blue or red. These colors are still highly visible. Unfortunately, its a no go :(

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE IT! I was nervous about getting this coat because there weren't any reviews anywhere online, but I decided to take the plunge as I live in NH for a few months and winter has definitely arrived!,,Anyway, this coat isn't the MOST stylish, but I'm fine wearing it and I don't worry about my appearance, it's a very "typical' coat. But I have to tell you, it's SO warm, just so incredibly warm and cozy, that I don't even mind walking the mile or so to the drugstore or the gym.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Tricky Fit I SOOOO wanted to love this jacket. Great color, materials, warmth etc! BUT and it's a big BUT.... the fit didn't work for me. I am 5'5" and 117 lbs. with an athletic build (wide shoulders and narrow hips), bought the XS, and the coat was too large in the shoulders and too slim in the hips (which usually never happens) . It looked like the fit of a men's jacket on me. I will try again if the fit is revised because the jacket is beautiful but just not for me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The warmest jacket I've ever owned Wearing this jacket is like wearing a sleeping bag. It is SO warm and incredibly light-weight. The stuff sack makes it easy to throw the jacket into my pack, though it does not stuff as small as I hoped: more like a small sleeping bag than a jacket. Thus far, the wind has been unable to penetrate through the thick synthetic insulation. Extra insulation around the neck keeps the cold from creeping in, as does the extra length at the bottom. The 2-way zipper is WONDERFUL for belaying. Honestly, the whole jacket is great for belaying if you're out there climbing in the cold. As is true for many Patagonia Jackets lately, the women's fit isn't great. The shoulders are wide but the chest and hips are tight, more like a men's cut, and not very flattering. I sized up to a Medium (5'6" 135lbs) to give my chest and hips some wiggle room and now have PLENTY of room for layers underneath. It looks bulky, but it is worth comfort and the warmth.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from warmest jacket ever This is the warmest jacket that Patagonia makes and probably also the warmest jacket anyone makes, but it isn't too big and bulky. This is my second, I used my first one all last year for skiing now I am taking this one on a 10 day winter hike/camp whatever. Its a really good jacket. Thats all I have to say.
