The Patagonia Women’s Capilene 2 LW Crew is a long underwear for cool to warm conditions. You know, those early fall and late spring hikes. Polartec Power Dry keeps you comfortable by wicking away sweat from your skin and the 20-UPF blocks the sun rays. The standard thumb loops work great for putting on under heavier layers for super cold days, keeping the sleeves in place.

"Excellent product, Great fit, Total crowd pleaser!"
I bought this product in size small as a gift for my girlfriend earlier this year and let me say first she was super ecstatic to receive it. The colors are awesome and the fit is awesome, too! It's close to the skin without being either too snug or too baggy; just what you want in a base layer. In two months of owning it the report is that this top still fits great and holds up very well. The capilene material handles the washer and dryer just fine with no extra-special care. Even so, I don't think she has to wash it much because the fabric wicks well and doesn't get very stinky even after wearing it a few times without washing. On a chilly day she'll wear it as a t-shirt around the house, or layered under something heavier if we go hiking. (Climate is PA, this Winter season). Overall warm and cozy & great for casual or technical wear.
"The go-to shirt for high exertion outdoors in 40 degrees"
I am a landscaper in central NC and am outdoors for 8 hours a day regardless of conditions. When it's cold, i wear this shirt (have it in several colors) almost every day. This and a shell are all I need to stay comfortable all day. Seat disappears out from under the stuff, i never feel wet and i sweat alot. This meterial feels more like a knit than the Capilene 1 which is silkier. It almost feels more like cotton than hi-tech poly until your wear it and it holds no sweat to chill you. I am 5'9" and 135# and the size M fits like it is custom made. Also, i think this material is more windproof than equivalent weight wool. In summation, i LOVE this shirt even more than i thought i would and i pretty much wear only Patagonia (under Carhartt quilted overalls when it's cold as it is right now.)
