The Patagonia Women's Better Sweater 1/4 Zip is a 100% polyester fleece pullover sweater that can be worn alone or underneath a shell. Made with Patagonia moisture-wicking fabric for the interior material, you are guaranteed to stay warm and dry. The Better Sweater features a heathered, overdye yarn exterior with a knit-like texture for a soft feel and classic style.

This is a great outdoor sweater. You will put in on to go out in the cold, then never take it off until you go to bed. It always looks good no matter how many times you wash it. The gray is a great color if you have a yellow lab and a black lab. Somehow it is the perfect color to mask either dog hair color. If you get the black and have a yellow lab, it is a dog hair magnet.

"Favorite everyday piece from Patagonia" 04/28/13

This sweater is fantastic, warm, and good-looking. While it's not my favorite for more intense outdoor activities (I would go with something more like the R1), this is probably my most-worn piece from Patagonia. Great for around town or the house, since it's not only warm and comfortable but flattering. Also a really great idea as a gift!

"FREAKIN' AWESOME BEST JACKET/SWEATER EVER." 04/04/13

Okay. I have three of these. Three. In different colors. And I love them. I wish I had seven. Actually, I'm wearing one right now. It's so cozy.•It's super toasty, but you don't feel like you're going to die when you're moving around.•Every color is gorgeous (the tyrian purple is my fave, though).•The sleeves are actually long enough for tall people. •Runs a little big, which is good if you want to wear layers under it - bad if you want it to be the layer under something else.

"It is the best gift ever!" 03/03/13

Bought my daughter one of these for Christmas. She LOVES it so much and is already concerned she will wear it out (I haven't seen her without it on since - well, maybe once or twice when we were running but she put it on after!!). Shortly after the purchase, her wife was yearning for a blue one. Couldn't find one anywhere, but being a totally obsessed person, I searched and found it on Moosejaw! Now, they love the Patagonias and I am in love with this place!! Anyhow, they continually rave about how soft and warm it is - might just have to get one for myself soon!! :-)

"Very cute and warm, but very tight fitting" 01/18/13

I love the jacket but I wish I could exchange it for a larger size. I like the oversized look but this jacket is very form fitting. A cute look, but I wanted something else, love the jacket though!

"Love The Better Sweater!" 01/09/13

Love the Better Sweater. They are perfect for outdoor winter activities. I wear this under a wind/rain shell and maintain a perfect temperature hiking/scrambling in the cold weather. I would recommend this sweater to anyone. The arm pocket is a nice addition.

"Fabulous!!" 12/20/12

I love love love the Patagonia Better Sweaters! I just ordered a second one. They are warm and don't hold smells from hiking all day. :P I like the zipper pocket on the sleeve; it holds all my essentials. And added bonus is the cut is feminine so I look good too. I highly recommend for anyone playing outside in cooler temperatures.

"Incredible Sweater. Very comfortable. Keeps warmth in!" 12/05/12

Amazing sweater. Sizing is a little weird though. Different between Small and XSmall is that the area in the sleeves are different. Length is the same between them, your arms just have a bit more breathing room. Love everything that comes from this!

""Sweats to work feeling without wearing sweats"" 10/29/12

I was eying this up, fell in love when I tried it on, bought it in the Maraschino color. The fabric is stiff but not as stiff as the retro-x jacket. I'm 5 ft and feel sleeves are little long but I see them as perfect length for me. It is more of a fitted sweater which I love and enjoy being able to layer it over a shirt. Its soft and the closest thing to wearing "sweats" at work. I only wash it in the washer and let it air dry. I love the sleeve pocket-perfect to put bills and id in if you don't want to carry anything. I get many compliments on this sweater. It is the perfect fall/spring pullover. I want to get this in more colors and I am always raving about how comfortable I feel in it.

"LOVE this! Wear it all the time." 06/03/12

LOVE the better sweater. I wear it all of the time. Except for the times that my older daughter borrows it (because she loves it, too). I am tall and was happy that the sleeves were the perfect length. Would consider buying another in another color!

The Patagonia Better Sweater truly is better :) Very well made, with quality materials. Fits true to size. I love the versatility of this piece. It is great for layering or alone.

"Everyone loves it!" 01/20/12

I have worn this several times since purchasing it before Christmas and get more compliments everytime I wear it. People are amazed by how soft it really is and want to know where to get it. I typically wear a medium but have broad sholders and wanted to be sure that the sleeves were long enough and ordered the large. It is still fitted but big enough to layer comfortably. The grey is a good neutral that goes with everything but I am hoping to add more colors in the future.
