The Patagonia Stealth Atom Sling is a fly fishing pack that will take the place of a traditional vest. The Stealth Atom is a sling, which functions on the right shoulder only, but has the ability to rotate in and out of the way, depending on whether you're ready to cast or need to access gear. The main section has room for two large fly boxes as well as organization pockets for additional items. The molded front panel drops down to create a flat fly-tying surface, all without having to leave the stream. Stash your water bottle in the spandex pocket at the bottom and perfect that cast.

Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. It's cute to think of a fabric as being afraid of water. Now if only they could make a bearphobic coating. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Fishing or Day Pack - handy for both!I purchased this pack with a credit I received and plan to use it as a small day pack on hikes. It has plenty of small pockets for various items and a couple of larger pockets that are big enough to carry a small sandwich and chips. There is also a waterproof interior pocket that is usable for ID and anything else you don't want to chance getting wet. The hard "case" on the outside is handy to keep items from getting crushed and the zip pocket on the strap is big enough for a protein bar or a knife, if you prefer. Placing the water bottle holder on the bottom of the pack was genius (and makes perfect sense since it is a sling pack).
The fact that this is a sling pack makes it extra handy; you don't have to stop while hiking to grab a snack or quick drink. It is very small so you'll have to be in "minimalist" mode to use it but it works like a charm. Heck, you could probably even use it while fishing....

Perfect for a long day on the Pecos! This is a great pack, as one would expect from such a great company as Patagonia. It has plenty of room for an extra layer, a multitude of pockets, plenty of places to attach zingers, and even holds a large water bottle. I bought this as a gift but think I might need to get one for myself as well!

Will the bag hold an Ipad Air? My old sling was so small I had to force the Air into it. Don't want to do that again.
Asked by: Dogears
If you have a case on your ipad, it may be a snug fit. With no case, it should slide in there without having to force it. I hope this helps!
