"Great buy" 04/10/12
When buying a rain jacket most people think your going for something simply to keep you buy. If thats all your looking for a garbage bag might be cheaper and more efficient for you. However if your looking for a high performance jacket to add to the Gear Closet at home, and something that will NOT fail you on the trail this is what your looking for. High end durable material that wont rip. Pockets to keep your stuff and Pit Zips to dump unwanted heat with a hood and tightening straps around the waist make this the most efficient rain jacket I have ever owned and it is worth every penny. Not to mention its a windproof shell to, to help keep you warm on those cold windy nights.
"Great for an outer shell!" 03/03/12
Another great patagonia product for keeping the snow, wind, and rain out! I use the Torrentshell as my outer most layer when it is snowing or raining! Has adjustable hood and torso as well as a protected zipper which is huge! I went with an XL(6'ft 200) so I so i can wear my down jacket underneath when the weather turns bad. Great product for your outer wear but it has no insolation on it.
"Great Jacket! Best purchase I've made" 02/06/12
Use this for my hardshell and it does the job... even in winter on semi-cold days ill wear it does a OK job at keeping the cold out too.... only downside of the jacket is that it is a pain when you want to compact it, it does work, just takes a little time
"Best Light Weight Coat I've Ever Owned!" 02/01/12
I live in the North East where the weather can turn on a dime. I've worn this coat on sunny days, in light rain and in down pouring rain. It keeps me bone dry. There's nothing like having this coat handy when out at a summertime concert or sporting event and the sky's begin to open up. I'm 5'6" about 170 lbs and the fit is nice - Goldilocks. Not too big, not too small, just right. The coat is super light and compact. I highly recommend this coat anybody looking for a light weight and waterproof coat for mild and warm temperatures.
"Keeps the water out" 01/27/12
keeps you dry and with a base layer underneath you are set to go on the mountain bike for hours to go. wore this to the Alabama Hills near Lone Pine, CA and rode my bike in the rain with no problem underneath. It was a blast. Hood is a little big, but overall a great, light, rain jacket.
"Great jacket" 01/20/12
It packs small in it's own pocket. It looks cool. It's more waterproof that my old shell, and the pit zips are nice so it doesn't get too sweaty. Also not zipping the front, and only using the Velcro helps keep heat out when it's steamy.
"Great product, great price" 01/16/12
I use this mostly for short bike commutes on rainy days and it always keeps me dry. Although it is made for casual activity so any trip that is a bit prolonged keeps the moisture on the inside - pit zips help to a certain extent. All in all, it's exactly what I need for most wet situations.
"Recommended!!!" 12/27/11
Great weight for traveling, dry and breathable. Can be used with a fleece underlayer for added warmth. One key on the fit though...arm lenth is great but if you are a bit rotund around the waist....work on the beer belly before adventuring out in this garment. It has a SLIM fit.
"Shell keeps you dry from the outside, pit zips keep you dry from the inside!" 12/22/11
I've worn this for two years now in Rochester, NY—so it's kept me dry when walking miles in 95º summer downpours and kept me warm as a winter shell in snow, ice, and nasty combos of those last two things. I've taken to just keeping it with me in my messenger bag, since it folds up into its own pocket. If you're looking for a waterproof, reliable, good-lookin', year-round jacket, look no further.
