The Men's Retro-X Jacket by Patagonia's breathable/windproof P.E.F. (performance-enhancing film or Primary Elephant Fuel as I like to think of it) barrier sits comfortably between layers of thickly piled, ecofriendly PCR Synchilla fleece and a Capilene brushed-mesh lining. This men’s fleece jacket offers a windflap behind full-front zip closure, zippered side and chest pockets. The Retro-X Jacket is ideal for lift-accessed riding, fly fishing, base camp warm up, around town, or outdoor work. This Patagonia fleece jacket has Y-joint sleeves making this a front-runner in the world of men’s fleece jackets. Yes, I would like that.

"Warm Casual Jacket" 11/05/12
If you are looking for a warm/windproof jacket for casual wear, this is perfect. This is not a technical jacket. It's not cut for technical use and won't wear as a performance piece would. This is great for apres` or strolling around in the cold. Very relaxed and boxy cut with room for layers. Length is shorter, cut right above the hip and sleeves tend to be fairly short. I usually wear an XL jacket but I size down for this particular style. I've got two of them and love them both. A classic Patagonia piece.
"Patagonia Men's Classic Retro-X Jacket" 09/22/12
The Patagonia Classic Retro-X Jacket combines a windresistant lining with the distinctive Retro-X "mature sheep" fleece for a great intermediate outerwear garment. This reviewer found it very adequate for dry cold conditions in the 20 degrees to 40 degrees range in Alaska. It is a bit bulky and stiff for anyone wearing gear or a backpack, or doing overhead work. However, it is excellent for yardwork, shingling a roof, running errands, casual wear, and long walks in cool weather. Matting the outer fleece down over time actually improves the look. The Classic Retro-X jacket is highly recommended to Patagonia fans as another quality product.
"In the words of T-Pain in the "Im on a Boat" song: "SHAWTAY!"" 08/14/12
Utter brilliance into the design and structure of the retro. Love it. Apart from looking fantastic, feeling greatly in it, being insanely unique and occasionaly having the ladies I hang with call me a sheep it has other benefits. Its a definite head turner and is one of the warmest pieces of clothing I have worn. Prestine condition year after year of putting up with my nonsense and lack of poor choices when wearing this fleece haha. If your if-e about it as I was definitly buy one. Theres nothing like solid pata gear. Especially when girls wear patagonia hmmm. Anyways 10/10!
"Light, Warm, Versatile!" 07/30/12
When I first got the jacket I surprised by how light it was, but I want to leave no doubt, this is a nice warm jacket. Being windproof helps a lot and allows the jacket to be worn in multiple conditions. The jacket is particularly nice when walking across campus. Depending on the weather, all that is needed under the jacket is a sweater on days around 30 degrees. This Patagonia is awesome!!
"A windproof fleece...what more could you want??" 06/05/12
This fleece is great. That's all there is to it. It can be worn as a shell on the bitter cold nights and keep you very warm. It can also be worn as a lighter jacket. The Windstopper really makes a difference when the windchill plays a factor though. The Napoleon pocket is ample sized. The hand pockets are spacious as well, although I feel the locations are a bit high on the torso. The fit is a little roomy around the body. I'm 5'11 ~170 lbs and the measurements of the fleece feel good, but there is plenty of room surrounding the body to allow for layering underneath.
