This jacket is amazing. When I first received it, I thought it was going to be not that warm, considering how thin it is. I was proven wrong when I took this in 0 degree weather, with 45 mph winds. This jacket holds up amazingly well, and I never get too hot with it. Only downside is that the jacket doesn't have anything like pit zips or other ventilation, but that is my only complaint. The windstopper works like a charm, and the hood, oh man the hood. Insulated and able to be adjusted in so many different ways, that it's guaranteed to fit your head. Only other gripe is that the hood is a little small to fit over my ski helmet.
Really nice and warm for those cold days outside. Best part of the jacket is the windstopper shell and insulated hood which makes this perfect for any sort of cold day! Super light and compressible to throw in a pack with all of your other gear too in case you want to pack it in as backup, or need to take it off and pack it out later.
I was a bit skeptical of how warm this jacket would be at first because it is a lot thinner than I imagined a winter coat being, but I have to say it is warmer than any jacket I have ever had. It is super lightweight and the WINDSTOPPER contributes a lot to what makes this jacket so warm. The hood is amazing, too. The primaloft goes all the way up into the hood and can be easily adjusted so that your head stays as toasty as the rest of you. Bottom line, awesome jacket. You won't regret your purchase.
Just picked up this patagonia for an overall warm, winter coat. I have to say I was skeptical of how warm the coat would be at first because it is super light weight, but it is pretty amazing. Just having it on inside, you start to sweat. You can tell the primaloft technology they use is really great. Seems to be a very durable exterior. I love the interior pocket where you can slip your phone, wallet, ipod, etc. Overall, great buy. You will get your money's worth on this one.
can't go wrong with patagonia stuff once you are able to afford it. my favorite part of their jackets is the 9000 ways to adjust the hood so its never ever in your way (comes in handy when trying to not walk into stationary objects!)
