Urban Dictionary has no definition for “Talus”. I checked. It does, however, have a definition for “Tallus”. Defined as, “A singluar term that refers to a supernatural/mythical being. He exists to bring groves of Shattered Legions together to battle evil dominions of noob clans, faeries, dwarves, sprites, ubbys, and mossies, although it is used mainly for an online beings, rarely is it used to describe noobs. This supernatural being is known for losing his cool during battles when losing, then belittling his clan until they rise up and defeat there enemies. Leadership by a Tallus often leads to victorious battles no matter his methods.” I have no idea what ubbys and mossies are but I think a Tallus sounds pretty badass. Similarly, the Patagonia Men's Windproof Talus Jacket is equally badass. This windproof men’s jacket is a fleece-backed stretch woven soft shell. Patagonia may not have been thinking about mythical creatures with they created this men’s outerwear but they made a pretty awesome windproof jacket all the same.

"Stylish, warm, but minor quality issues" 07/31/11
Overall, I really love the design. It is stylish and can be warn around town or to the office with no problems. It is also very warm and protects against fairly strong winds, although a hood would be useful. with a warm base layer below, this jacket provided wind and cold protection with temperatures as low as the mid twenties to thirties. My only complaint regarding this jacket is that its already starting to show signs of wear after only one season of moderate use. The fabric is discolored along the chest zippers and bottom. The velcro along wrist guards has also started to rip off. Overall these are very minor complaints, but I was expecting slightly better craftsmanship for the price.
"great fit!" 01/25/11
i was so exicted to give this to my husband! i was for his birhday in feb, but i couldn't wait. he is about 6'2 and 230bls. its long enough in the arms and fits right on the waist. i think he could fit a sweatshirt underneath as well. (xl size)
"Best Softshell I've worn" 01/03/11
I'm 5'11'' - 165lbs and got a medium in Rockwall. The jacket fits and looks great. Just lose enough to layer without being too roomy and the color has gotten plenty of compliments. Got this jacket for Christmas and wore it in an actually 'Blizzard' in Boston a day later. Was out for 2 hours straight and can attest that the jacket is truly wind proof and very water resistant. Wore a North Face TKA 100 fleece pullover underneath and was perfectly warm and dry. Great softshell and well worth the payola.
"Great Windproof softshell and great color!!!" 10/28/10
I am 6'2" 255lbs and ordered size XL in rockwall color. The color is excellent but I had to exchange it for a size L because the arms were bit too long and it was a bit too large in the mid section. The large fits snug just how a windproof jacket should. I have only worn the jacket out once hiking so far, but it has been excellent. It is definitely windproof and very warm. I cannot wait for it to cool down to really put it to the test. I also have to mention the amazing Moosejaw service. I actually had to exchange this and another item and their service was absolutely flawless. Fast shipping and great communication throughout the entire order process. Thanks a lot Moosejaw!!!!!
"Patagonia does it again... Great Soft-Shell... Great Life Choice" 09/24/10
This jacket is very warm by itself and is even warmer with layering. I'm 6'2" 240 and I ordered a L, which is working out perfectly for me. I did a lot of looking around, and while I haven't tried many other Soft-Shells, I'm stoked with my decision.
