The Ultralight Down Shirt is a very warm insulating layer. What makes it so nice is that it is low weight, and low bulk. It fits super nice under either a soft shell or hard shell outer jacket. It is much lighter than a heavy wool sweater and just as warm. The fit is appropriately snug without being too tight or too loose. As with all Patagonia products, it is well made. I will recommend this to my friends.
It packs so small it disappears in the pack. I find it to be the perfect weight mid layer for all but the coldest of days. Perfect for extending a sleeping bag past is limits with out taking to much room from the bag. The fit is trim without being restrictive. I'd recommend it if your UL type of person.
Awesome... If you are someone who hates to carry a jacket or coat around with you.....you will love this.... i wear it when i go to school during the winter....it doesnt burn you up inside...but it keeps you warm spending 5-15 minutes outside...get it!!
