"Got this for emergency use. Does the job!"

I'll only use rain pants if it's REALLY coming down. These are perfect for that. I used them on a hike last year at Lafayette last October and was glad I had them. The fit was tricky because of my build: 5'6" 150lbs. 30" waist. The medium seemed long so I went with small. They're a bit tight through the leg, but they work. They breathe well enough and certainly keep the rain out, but seemed a little restrictive. I'll attribute this to the sizing issue. They pack down very small too, into their own pocket! As an emergency shell they're awesome!

Very durable material. Have never worried about them tearing due to terrain. Sitting, lounging, walking, or whatever else you need em to do, they can handle it. But like most rain pants you wont use them NEAR as much as the rain coat. Very windproof to help keep you warm but unless is cold sweat builds up quickly, especially on severe inclines. One added feature that might help this is a zippered crotch to dump some unwanted heat.
Hiked up Mt Washington in these pants and forgot I had them on. More importantly, the rest of the week with good weather they were at the bottom of the pack and they were so like and compressible I forgot they were there (I forget a lot)!
