The Patagonia Men’s Powder Bowl Pant is a waterproof ski and snowboard pant for riding your favorite slopes. The Gore-Tex 2-layer fabric is waterproof and breathable to keep you dry through deep powder or even a little tumble. The durable water repellent sheds water as well, so it won’t soak in. The regular fit provides room for a base layer and a gusseted crotch for movement. Pockets are peppered throughout for hanging onto important items, and they’re all zippered for security. Thigh vents on the outsides of the leg release excess heat for a quick breather.

Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. It's cute to think of a fabric as being afraid of water. Now if only they could make a bearphobic coating. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.
If you haven't heard of GORE-TEX by now, you've probably been living under a rock. And that would make sense, because living under a rock is probably the only place where you wouldn't need the durable waterproof and windproof protection that GORE-TEX fabrics offer. So when you're ready to venture out from under your rock, arm yourself with the comfortable protection of GORE-TEX.

Men's Fit Guide Details & Info
Patagonia's measurements refer to body size and NOT garment dimensions. Sorry for yelling about it.
Each Patagonia product is designed and shaped specifically for its intended use, and below are their generalized four fit descriptions, and details about each fit. The Patagonia fit for each style can be found in the product description features or specifications.
FORMFITTING • Conforms to the body's contours.
SLIM FIT • Closer-fitting. Slim-fitting technical garments may be worn over baselayers and light midlayers.
REGULAR FIT • Neither slim nor oversized. Regular-fitting technical garments may be worn over heavier midlayers. Men's regular fit pants have a slimmer fit through that thigh, lower leg, and cuff.
RELAXED FIT • Drapes loosely on the body. Men's relaxed fit pants have a bit of extra room through the hip, thigh, lower, and cuff.

Great pants that are hard to beatThese are some great pants that are really hard to beat. I am 5'10", 32 waist and I got these in medium. These have a decent amount of room for layers and I am sure someone with a 34" waist could also fit into them since I used the internal Velcro belts to cinch the waist tight. I am a huge arcteryx fan and have been looking at getting some of their pants, but since these have performed so magnificently for my purposes I really can't justify spending the extra money for upgraded pants. This is my first season skiing/snowboarding so I have had more then my share of falls and the pants have only 3 miniscule superficial cuts in the instep to show for it that came as a result of one spectacular tumble at high speed. These pants have seen extensive use and I have worn them on the slopes for full days through persistent rain without ever having any rain make it through. When I decided to get another pair I looked hard at the arcteryx pants but I ended up buying another one of these.

Awesome construction but runs largeLove these to death! Was issued my first pair by Vail resorts, and liked them so much that I had to buy a pair of my own. I'd say they run a half to full size large, so take that in to consideration.
