"((((WORTH EVERY SEVEN THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED CRAZY PENNIES))))"
I'm tough on clothes so I got this. It looks good right out of the clean pile, to the dirty pile, & back out of the clean pile. It will put clothes ironers (sp?) out of business. I bike commute and it stays dry. It can go from church to the bar and not look like a heathen. I Love the square cut and I don't look like a slacker. Eventually, I may need to reinforce the buttons (I haven't yet but I can see it coming). I would size it big since the clothes industry today thinks we are all french. I want all of these A/C shirts!
Wow, what a find! Expensive, but it's a great shirt for sure.I traveled to Rome last year in November and we had some really odd weather- Hot and humid. Very muggy. Very unexpected. I was glad I packed this shirt along as an afterthought. I ended up wearing this often. Breathed great, felt light and airy and kept me looking cool as well. I wasn't as fashionable as most of the Europeans, or as good looking, but no one could point at me and say I didn't look dapper. I even saw some Patagonia on the native population over there as well! What worked best about this shirt was the garment's "washability." I could just run it under a sink faucet, wash with a bar of soap, rinse, ring it out, shake it out and then hang to dry. Next morning, it was perfect. The texture lends itself to that, "supposed to be crumpled," look. It will always be my favorite travel shirt.
100% organic cotton but feels like a technical shirt. Don't know what magic they use to weave it but it's seriously light and airy feeling with this, for lack of a better descritpion, micro-wrinkled feel to it so it doesn't stick to your skin. Fits not too tight and not too loose, just right for a 175lb 5'10" frame. Colors are nice too.
This is one awesome shirt. It's made with 100% organic cotton. Once of a kind textile design. Most of their patterns design is unique. Excellent in hot weather. The cut is very relaxing and comfortable. What more can you ask. It can be pricy but if you remember to pick a few during sale, you can save a bunch and have one of the best summer shirts.
Really nice 'Airy' shirt for the summer, originally bought a large but it seemed to run a bit slim and shorter than he wanted (especially since he would just throw it in the dryer-I was afraid it just shrink smaller) so I bought the XL, unfortunately seemed to be the same length but with a few inches of added width...so we just kept it. I bought the Salida color/print & matched pretty right on to what appeared online.
I don't really understand all of the flack this shirt is getting for the sizing. I suppose if you were congealed in a laboratory in Uzbechistan, and have the body-type of a mongoloid centaur, with duck feet and gynecomastia. It may be a little uncomfortable, but then again if you looked like that, you'd probably uncomfortable in most anything. Don't believe the critics, a GREAT SHIRT! Keeps you cool all day, wicks great, smells good, beautiful colors that stay vivid wash after wash, and its P-Gonia, so you know it will last. Great product!!
"buy this shirt. now. no questions asked. its great. seriously."
personally, i prefer colder weather. i can always put on more layers to get comfortable. unfortunately, during warm weather, there is only so much you can take off, and even still, your still pretty hot. this shirt is about as close to wearing nothing as you will find. it looks good, feels good, and packs light. it also drys quickly, so washing it in the sink works well, should that become necessary.
Terrific shirts except for the new sizing. The point of these shirts is coolness and comfort. I have worn them for 15 years, but last year they changed to a "trim fit" and continue this year. I have worn XLs forever and the occasional L but now the XL is tight around the chest and gut so I had to go to XXL. The XXL sleeve seam is 2 inches down my arm and the bottom of the shirt hits me mid-thigh. I have had to get them shortened at a tailor. Try these on before purchasing. The store where I purchase these said Patagonia messed up the women's sizing too. I love the A/C fabrics except for some that fade really fast in the armpits.
