The Patagonia Men's Rubicon Windstopper Jacket is a great performance piece for when you're going above the treeline or in otherwise exposed areas. The 2.8-oz Gore WINDSTOPPER® 100% nylon shell with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish will block out the wind with a vengeance. I'm not sure what wind ever did to make this jacket so mad, but the Rubicon wants nothing to do with it anymore. 100-g PrimaLoft® ECO insulation is mapped across your core, with 60-g in the arms, to assure warmth while increasing mobility and compressibility and minimizing weight and bulk.
FEATURES of the Patagonia Men's Rubicon Windstopper Jacket
Gore Wind stopper insulated shell fabric combined with warm Prim aloft Eco insulation that's lightweight, compressible and highly weather-resistant
Helmet-compatible, 2-way-adjustable fixed hood with laminated visor for optimal visibility in bad conditions soft micro fleece panels at back of neck and on storm flap at chin
Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. It's cute to think of a fabric as being afraid of water. Now if only they could make a bearphobic coating. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.
WINDSTOPPER fabrics keep you comfortable by controlling the microclimate directly around your body. They do this with an ultra-light, ultra-thin membrane which blocks wind while allowing interior moisture vapor to escape. Your microclimate will be so cozy and inviting, you could probably timeshare it out.
PrimaLoft was originally developed to serve as a water resistant, synthetic alternative to goose down for the U.S. Army. Since then PrimaLoft has been a leader in insulation and fabric technologies in the outdoor industry, and is used by the top outerwear and clothing brands to craft pieces that offer warmth without bulky weight, packablity, and both water resistance and breathability for all your outdoor adventures.

Men's Fit Guide Details & Info
Patagonia's measurements refer to body size and NOT garment dimensions. Sorry for yelling about it.
Each Patagonia product is designed and shaped specifically for its intended use, and below are their generalized four fit descriptions, and details about each fit. The Patagonia fit for each style can be found in the product description features or specifications.
FORMFITTING • Conforms to the body's contours.
SLIM FIT • Closer-fitting. Slim-fitting technical garments may be worn over baselayers and light midlayers.
REGULAR FIT • Neither slim nor oversized. Regular-fitting technical garments may be worn over heavier midlayers. Men's regular fit pants have a slimmer fit through that thigh, lower leg, and cuff.
RELAXED FIT • Drapes loosely on the body. Men's relaxed fit pants have a bit of extra room through the hip, thigh, lower, and cuff.

Favorite Jacket I Have Ever OwnedI will start by saying that I am a huge fan of Patagonia for many reasons. Their quality is amazing, the customer service is great, and the clothes are made out of sustainable materials, and I could go on all day! I tend to run warm so this jacket is perfect because of the well placed insulation keeps you warm in the right places. Also the pit zips are awesome if you get too hot hiking or you are on the commuter train. The jacket is completely windproof and rain/snow has never gotten through, even here in Chicago. The fit is relaxed and the sleeves are pretty long, but it gives you great range of motion. The room is also great for layering with a mid layer like the Patagonia R2 fleece on Mountain Hardwear Monkey Man, on a really cold day. I would absolutely buy this coast again!
