The Men's R4 Jacket by Patagonia has been test through some of the harshest evironments. Windproof protection for frigid conditions in a single, stretchy package- only patagonia can do it up like this. Infact, last year my friend in South Dakota had to have this jacket; now I am not gonna lie- they are really big fans of this product. I used to say, "I'm not gonna lie" to my campers all the time, but to be honest that was a lie too.

"Buy it!"
          12/02/09
I have owned numerous fleece jackets over the years and this is best yet. You can immediately notice the quality construction and comftorable fit. Include the fact that it's super warm and relatively lighweight = We got a winner!

I live in the Windy City and this jacket has saved my life more than a few times over the course of the 2 years I have owned it. The very light frame and durability of this jacket is amazing. The wind doesn't stand a chance to this master piece. I have recommended this jacket to almost everyone, escpecially when they see me in the winter with just this jacket on. Do it.... just buy it!

"Perrrfect"
          10/26/09
One cold and windy night, I said, "Hey, it's so cold and windy out there I need a jacket to protect me." Late in the night (2:37 am) I visited moosejaw.com and discovered the R4. It keeps me warm like a roaring fire but breathes like Egyptian cotton. It blocks the wind as if a 6 foot 9, 350 pound line backer was standing right in front of me, but it is as light as a feather. Just get it. I guarantee you will pat yourself on the back for making the purchase. Perfect fit, the color is a tad darker then shown online, drawstring waist adds to comfort and fit. Did I mention you will attract tons of the opposite sex as well? Or maybe that is just me.

"Top Dawg of fleece jackets at a bargain price."
          10/24/09
Yes the list price is $250, but this is Patagonia quality, which in my opinion is up there with Arcteryx, and TNF Summit Series jackets. Lets start with fit: For a 155lbs, 5'9 lean fram, 31 inch waist both a small and a medium fits. I ended up with the medium for layerying, but a small would have been an awesome standalone piece down to 30*F. As far as warmth, it is warmer than the Arcteryx Easyrider, albeit this won't shed rain. Go for it, this is THE warmest, most wind resistant true fleece out there.

"THE BEST..........AROUND"
          10/21/09
Best jacket out there period. Does a great job of blocking the wind and keeping you warm. Its also extremely stylish and classy. The material is soft and irresistible to touch... especially to the ladies. I recommend this product to everyone that wants to stay warm and look cool this winter

"Best...Fleece...Ever..."
          10/19/09
I love this jacket. The other reviewers are totally correct regarding its windproofness. I can feel the difference between my cold legs and my completely toasty torso when I'm out in high winds. The jacket is comfy and I haven't had a problem with the zippers--even when I'm in thick gloves. My toddler thinks the jacket is soft and fuzzy, just like Mr. Bear, so I'm getting some extra hugs whenever I'm in the R4. Regarding sizing, the jacket is true to size, so follow the size chart accordingly. I have no regrets about this jacket. One warning: it might come to replace much of your outerwear wardrobe.

"Big ups"

Really like this jacket, and having tried on the lightweight version a while ago, recommend this one over it. Thin, light, warm, and pretty windproof.

"The warmest fleece out there built to last!"
          09/10/09
I love the R4 Jacket. I use it a lot on the motorcycle. You don't feel a bit of wind coming in at all and all that while it is in the 20s out. I can only recommend this one. It is worth every penny.

"Makes me want to cry"
          08/06/09
Every time I put this coat on i shed a tear. I really like this coats look and feel. The green online is a little misleading...more of a moss man green rather then olivine.

"I USED THIS JACKET ALOT DURING THE SEASONS!"
          06/25/09
This was my primary jacket When i went out, when i went hiking, to work, to play. It really is an all purpose jacket and the ladies to touch the material (so do I, but it looks weird in public, i dont recommend that). It held up well after many washes and endured my many drunken nights. Great jacket!

"Excellent Jacket"
          06/25/09
This jacket is lightweight but blocks the wind and provides warmth in the coldest weather. Soft feel, great fit, true to size. This is the third R4 jacket I've purchased -- because my sons have adopted my other two. Great product!

"makes winter fun"
          06/13/09
I bought my R4 hoping for something warmer than a soft shell that I could wear until it gets down in the 20s. I ended up wearing it pretty much all winter, and my down parka got jealous. With a base layer, it's warm down to 15; with a mid layer it's good into the single digits. Big slash pockets double as vents, which came in handy when snowshoeing. Just don't expect to walk around with your hands in your pockets when it's cold/windy. The fit is athletic. I'm 5-11, 165 and the medium is perfect (even with my chimpanzee arms). Snug enough to keep wind out but just enough room for a sweater. I basically wouldn't trade this jacket for anything.
