Give this breathable, compressible, stretchy, high-loft Regulator fleece mid-layer the task of keeping you insulated and warm while minimizing weight and bulk, and it will excel. Products on Sale are Discontinued Styles or Colors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great jacket It is true that this jacket is a masterpiece. I was amazed by this R2 jacket. It is warn, lightweight, highly breathable. As the fleece is made with Polartec Thermal Pro fabric, the jacket is very soft and comfortable. Also, R2 is a high loft fleece, which has a very high compressibility. It would not use too much space when you put it in your pack. On the whole, R2 is a great jacket, you can wear it when you really want to keep yourself warm in different conditions and it can still perform really well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Midlayer so far I have used this jacket all the time!!! It is extremely breathable, lightweight, fairly compresible.,,The new R1 panels are a very good improvement over the last model (I have both).,,The length is slightly longer. Excellent news for me, 6.4 tall, 220 pounds.,,Obviously if you don´t move in windy situation, you will need to use a windproof shell...,,FAirly durable materials, even against rock ,,Overall this is a jacket that will go with you when climbing/ice climbing, traveling and even around town.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Designed With the Climber & Backpacker in Mind!!! I absolute love this fleece! I almost don't know where to begin. First and foremost the fit is definitely an athletic fit, which is conducive to layering as a mid layer and makes for a very ascetically pleasing outer layers on athletic bodies, which I like. I'm 6'5 and about 230lbs and the Large is perfect for me. The fit is amazing in the midsection but a bit snug in the shoulders and arms, which isn't necessarily the jackets fault though because I do have exceptionally broad shoulders and big arms. The features on this jacket are amazingly thoughtful, the R1 fabric is thin but still warm and very breathable in all the right places and is placed perfectly so that it fits under my climbing harness and hip belt with no added bulk, and the pockets are easily accessible while strapped up. The R2 fabric is amazingly warm for the weight but still breaths well. Long sleeves, long hem and arm gussets fit my apishly long arms and torso perfectly and are arguably my favorite feature, the only thing that might top it is the collar. The collar is the perfect height and size to be worn comfortably with the zipper all the way up and the kissing welt zipper garage on in just feels cozy and inviting but most importantly IT DOES NOT CATCH BEARD HAIR!!! Overall this jacket is my new favorite fleece and will be my go to, cold weather active jacket, climbing and hiking fleece, below zero mid layer, and all around good looking town fleece for years to come.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great jacket! Was debating on a good medium weight, under-shell fleece to buy. Did a lot of research and finally settled on the R2. Haven't had many opportunities to wear it yet, but so far I have no's great jacket. Very warm with good features. I am 6'-3" tall, 170 lbs. and the large is perfect. My only beef is the neck is not very snug when fully zipped; in fact it hangs very loosely. Thus the 4 stars instead of 5.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very Comfortable The fabric on this fleece is extremely soft, which is great. The fit is a little bit snug in the chest, but in general this is a great light jacket. It's not particularly warm (it's great when it's in the 50s, but you will be cold if it's in the 40s). Overall, it's a good light jacket if you're looking for something comfortable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm, lightweight, packable This is a classic fleece made even better with the use of the R1 panels, which increase fit and stretch over areas that move a lot (like elbows!) It is very lightweight without sacrificing warmth and packs down well for throwing in your pack or laptop bag. One of the most versatile pieces you can add to your wardrobe!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light-weight Jacket that is Breathable, Soft, and Warm-ish I originally bought this jacket because it was on sale and is a bright, "Big Bird" yellow color. I use it for layering, as a light jacket around the office, and as a pillow when I'm camping. I'm 5' 11" and 135 lbs and a Medium fits loose but long enough for my arms. With Patagonia jackets I recommended getting the larger size so you have enough material to cover your arms- especially if you're tall and skinny!,,,,Pros: Trusted name in the industry with an "iron clad warranty". Light, breathable and slightly warm jacket. Makes for a comfy pillow when rolled up in a small pillow case. Machine washable and dryer-safe. ,,,,Cons: It's very breathable which can be great in the right condition. Although this jacket is warm keep that in mind if you're in an area, like Chicago, that is windy. If you're at full-price this jacket can be pricey. ,,,,Bottom line: If you want a breathable jacket and packs in warmth, mostly when layered under a shell, then you can't go wrong with this one!
