If you’re looking for an eco-friendly, compressible, breathable, versatile fleece jacket, look no further than the Patagonia Men’s R2 Jacket. This jacket is made with 6.1 ounces of Polartec Thermal Pro fleece, which is a 64% recycled polyester/spandex blend, and weighs in at 13.1 ounces. Patagonia strategically placed Polartec Power Stretch panels along the sides of the body and arms, adding extra air flow, a closer fit and easier motion control, making the R2 an ideal layering choice when hitting the slopes. In mid-range temps, this Patagonia men’s fleece jacket will hold up as a stand alone piece for almost any activity thanks to the directional knit of the short sheared/high loft F3 (fleece face fabric). You’re looking at a slim fit with this piece. Definitely designed with the athlete in mind.

"Sick Nasty" 04/05/12
This jacket is awesome. It's incredibly light weight and packs down small. Not to mention it breathes like a champ. Whether i'm walking to class or backpacking in the appalachians, I've always got it with me. I'm about 5' 10 and weigh in at 170 and the medium is perfect. You should probably buy this jacket.
"Great Jacket / Shirt to have" 02/06/12
The R2 is probably the most versatile piece from Patagonia that I own. It is my go to fleece, jacket. I wear it in the house and outside the house and choose it over all other pieces 75% of the time. I bought the Fennel color as it appeared to be less of a bright green than the gecko. Please realize though that the Fennel colored R2 is still VERY bright and not as close to a Kelly Green as you would think. You can't go wrong with an R2, just make sure the bright green is what you want.
"Soft and fluffy" 01/06/12
I bought this fleece because it's highly packable, lightweight and makes a great layer under a jacket or shell. The R2 is ridiculously soft, you'll find that chicks get can't enough of it, so get ready for some rubbin'. It loses a point for wind resistance, which is nearly nonexistent, but it doesn't claim to be wind proof so I'm just being picky here. My advice is to find a girl that likes how it feels (and they all do) and use her as a shield against the wind...a shell is also a viable option. The price is steep, but Patagonia makes great gear and is one of the more environmentally conscious companies out there, so you might be saving a fjord or some salmon by supporting them.
"GREAT LIGHT WEIGHT FLEECE" 12/29/11
Patagonia R2 Jacket is a great light weight fleece - slim fit. The XS small fits my 12 yr old son with a little room to grow. The MANGO color is sweet - BRIGHT NEON ORANGE if that's your thing.
"Super comfortable" 12/10/11
This is a great jacket and works well as an under garment in cold weather. If there is any wind it whips through..as it is fleece. It is a bit bulky and if warmth is your primary concern I would go with down. Super comfortable other wise...
"Great Snug Fit, Great Looks" 12/07/11
This jacket feels great and has a wonderful snug fit. Even though the fit is snug, it does not limit movement. The stretch panels on the side and back of the sleeves (wear points) are a nice touch and make the fit of the jacket nice. I tried a North Face Super Siula Jacket and the fit was bigger and not as nice as the Patagonia.
"Wow...Cookin!!!" 11/23/11
I just received my R2 from Moosejaw. Fuzzy, Soft, and wow so light. If you haven't had a "quality" fleece before like me, this is quite the pleasant surprise. I took my hoodie off and put this R2 on, and now I amazingly warm. ABonus is its soooooo comfortable, you feel like it is your fleece blanket in your own warm bed on a cold chilly winter morning.Major Thumbs up...can't wait to get a R3 and R1 in the future...Patagonia and Moosejaw customer for life!
"Can't go wrong with Patagonia" 11/20/11
It can be a little tough on the wallet but you know what you are going to get. I'm still wearing Patagonia gear I've had had for 5+ years. This performs exactly up to specifications it is warm but breathable making it a great 3 season jacket. I'm 6'2" 220 and I wear an XL.
"Great comfortable fleece!" 10/09/11
This R2 is not as dense as its bigger (and more expensive) brothers, but does its job well! very warm for how light and packable that it is, the "furry"-ness of it makes it very easy to wear and you are sure to get the "that jacket looks warm and comfy! can i wear it?!" from all the ladies.
