The Patagonia Men's R1 Pullover is a fleece 1/2 zip for insulation during physical activity on the mountain. Climb and hike your way up the mountain and along the trail, and what better way to do so while warm and comfortable? The Polartec® Power Grid™ fabric is a polyester/spandex fleece, featuring a grid pattern that wicks moisture away from the body, dries quickly, and provides warmth. As you heat up, open the 1/2 zip to release that body heat quickly, just zip it up when it starts to get cold again. The smooth exterior allows additional layers to glid on over top and the Polygiene® permanent odor control prevents the stench from lingering after the umpteenth day of wear. Tuck something small into the chest pocket and tackle the next scramble.

Products on Sale are Discontinued Styles or Colors.

Men's Fit Guide Details & Info

Patagonia's measurements refer to body size and NOT garment dimensions. Sorry for yelling about it.

Each Patagonia product is designed and shaped specifically for its intended use, and below are their generalized four fit descriptions, and details about each fit. The Patagonia fit for each style can be found in the product description features or specifications.

• Conforms to the body's contours.

• Closer-fitting. Slim-fitting technical garments may be worn over baselayers and light midlayers.

• Neither slim nor oversized. Regular-fitting technical garments may be worn over heavier midlayers. Men's regular fit pants have a slimmer fit through that thigh, lower leg, and cuff.

• Drapes loosely on the body. Men's relaxed fit pants have a bit of extra room through the hip, thigh, lower, and cuff.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatile, lightweight, comfortable fleece I use this as my primary layering piece. It works great on an airplane to keep you a little warm on those long flights, or in any slightly chilly scenario. Very nice to be able to dump heat quickly with the extended chest zipper. Probably one of my most worn pieces. because of the temperature ranges it can be worn in. Doesn't provide a huge amount of warmth. On it's own, I wouldn't wear it below 50 degrees. Doesn't do a lot to cut out the wind either, but that's what other pieces are for. I'm 6' 180lbs and went with a large. It is a little big in the stomach and long in the arms, but leaves room for layering. I probably should have gotten a medium for the more trim, technical fit, but decided I don't necessarily want a slim fit fleece.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Firstly, I'm 5'9" with a 43 inch chest measurement and 17 inch arms and the Large size in this product is a snug fit. I wouldn't go any larger and the Large size still allows me to move quite freely. I have sensitive skin and my skin seems to tolerate the material quite well so I am quite pleased with this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Favorite Piece of Clothing I remember the days prior to owning this piece of gear. The days seemed shorter, colder, sadder....and the sun seemed to be hidden for years. Then my R1 arrived. I think it was the first piece of brand new Patagonia gear I purchased. It is a perfect mid-weight layer. It does nothing to block wind. Alone, it will fight a chill. Mix it with a base layer and a shell and it is insulation that makes others jealous. My preferred set up is a light base layer, R1, and Outdoor Research Helium II rain coat. Super thin and good down to wet freezing temps. Packs pretty small for a base layer, so it goes everywhere I go. I've owned one of these since 2008, and have to fight the urge to buy a new one every time I see on on the racks. After a few washes, it is a soft and silky embrace for years.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not what I was looking for but a nice garment. I was looking for a lightweight pullover that could be worn like a sweater over work and casual button downs. Although this is a high quality garment (which is why I will not give it a negative review), it was too snug and super warm for my purposes. I went with the Patagonia Houdini pullover instead and it's perfect for my needs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from awesome jacket. it is excellent for layering. fits well and looks great on its own. it breathes better than any other jacket i own and layers well under my nano puff in the snow, but is versatile enough to keep me warm on a colder rainy day on campus or out on the water. its also lightweight so it won't weigh you down.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It works like they said Picked this one up for a mid weight on an early spring backcountry trip in RMNP. Worked out perfect, packed well in the side pocket as well as filling gaps in the main pack compartment. Relatively light but plenty warm for those cold morning starts. Like the lite color. Go buy one for yourself.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super comfy This pullover is lightweight and really comfy. If you are looking for something that you can wear out in the winter this probably isn't the pullover for you. But it is really great for spring or fall weather. I love it!
