"Buy 'Em" 02/11/12
Bought these pants for ice climbing to be worn underneath a softshell pant while climbing. They work great! My legs stayed warm while belaying and didn't over heat while climbing. I also wear these pants running in cold temps and they are perfect. They are the greatest all around fleece pant out there. You can squeeze another layer underneath if need be but unless you're in absolutely frigid temps and have at least one other outer layer on there will be no need.

I bought these pants just because I loved my R1 Hoody and R1 pullover. Now I find the R1 pants even better than them. The R1 pants are not too loose or tight, they just keep a warm layer of air around the legs. You can add a tight underneath or a hardshell outside. You can hike, rest and sleep in these, or even run in these. Very versatile.
"Tighter than I expected but a great insulating layer" 12/01/10
To say these have a "slim fit" is putting it kindly. They fit similar to tights with a slightly looser cut in the calf. That being said they are an excellent mid-layer as you can easily fit a shell or hiking pants over them. The pants do a great job of keeping you warm without over heating. I'm 6'1" 180 lbs 32 inch waist and ordered a medium. If you want to wear tights underneath try ordering up a size.
