Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. It's cute to think of a fabric as being afraid of water. Now if only they could make a bearphobic coating. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.
If you haven't heard of GORE-TEX by now, you've probably been living under a rock. And that would make sense, because living under a rock is probably the only place where you wouldn't need the durable waterproof and windproof protection that GORE-TEX fabrics offer. So when you're ready to venture out from under your rock, arm yourself with the comfortable protection of GORE-TEX.

Men's Fit Guide Details & Info
Patagonia's measurements refer to body size and NOT garment dimensions. Sorry for yelling about it.
Each Patagonia product is designed and shaped specifically for its intended use, and below are their generalized four fit descriptions, and details about each fit. The Patagonia fit for each style can be found in the product description features or specifications.
FORMFITTING • Conforms to the body's contours.
SLIM FIT • Closer-fitting. Slim-fitting technical garments may be worn over baselayers and light midlayers.
REGULAR FIT • Neither slim nor oversized. Regular-fitting technical garments may be worn over heavier midlayers. Men's regular fit pants have a slimmer fit through that thigh, lower leg, and cuff.
RELAXED FIT • Drapes loosely on the body. Men's relaxed fit pants have a bit of extra room through the hip, thigh, lower, and cuff.
Rated 5 out of
Great HardshellPurchased to use mainly for skiing. The yellow is very bright which is good for extra on-hill visibility. The fit is good with enough room to move and layer up if needed. I'm 5' 10", 195lbs and the large fit me very well. Have had it in 40+ mph, 15 F gusty days on top of the mountain and it really came through. Hood fits well over a helmet but you do have to unzip a bit to get it in to position. Plenty of pockets for your stuff and all in good placement. Worked well with a pack on. Would like to see integrated glove tether points and a d-ring for day passes. Sleeve pocket is useful for holding permanent passes. Integrated powder skit works very well and stores out of the way when not needed. All in all a great technical hard shell jacket that won't let you down.
