The Patagonia Men's Primo Down Jacket is a waterproof down jacket for skiing in the cold, wet winters. When you wake up and the forecast says 'wintery-mix', don't roll over and head back to bed, instead layer up and finish with this insulated wonder on top. The 2L, 40D, 100% polyester ripstop GORE-TEX® shell has a durable water repellent finish, ready to keep you dry in whatever wet weather comes across the mountains. It'll block wind and instead of shivering in the frozen temps, you'll be surrounded and snuggled into the 800 fill power goose down insulation. A powder skirt prevents snow from entering, but is still low profile so it won't be too much of a bother, plus pit zips open wide to release excess heat built up from the adventure. Stay warm, dry, and on the mountain all winter long.

Touch Point System embeds cord locks in hood and hem for quick and easy adjustment; goose-down-filled draft collar at back of neck for extra warmth

Men's Fit Guide Details & Info
Patagonia's measurements refer to body size and NOT garment dimensions. Sorry for yelling about it.
Each Patagonia product is designed and shaped specifically for its intended use, and below are their generalized four fit descriptions, and details about each fit. The Patagonia fit for each style can be found in the product description features or specifications.
FORMFITTING • Conforms to the body's contours.
SLIM FIT • Closer-fitting. Slim-fitting technical garments may be worn over baselayers and light midlayers.
REGULAR FIT • Neither slim nor oversized. Regular-fitting technical garments may be worn over heavier midlayers. Men's regular fit pants have a slimmer fit through that thigh, lower leg, and cuff.
RELAXED FIT • Drapes loosely on the body. Men's relaxed fit pants have a bit of extra room through the hip, thigh, lower, and cuff.

Struck GoldI was looking for a durable, warm ski coat that would be versatile (and subtle) enough to use as a city commuting coat when the east coast weather gets truly nasty. At first, I spent a lot of time looking at the endless variety of 3-in-1 coats. But since I already have a specific shell + mid layer I prefer for other activities, buying another set just to get a powder skirt seemed like a waste. And the 3-in-1 were generally too flashy for work. So, I focused on two insulated ski coats: The NorthFace Gatekeeper 2.0 (Cosmic Blue) and the Patagonia Primo Down (Black).
The Primo Down won hands down. It costs about twice as much as the Gatekeeper, but it met all my requirements. First, the GoreTex/Down combo keeps me dry and toasty. The fit is fantastic. The pockets are perfectly placed, and the hood is simply the best I've ever worn. I appreciate the beefy zippers (fronts and pits) which do need to be worked in a bit. And the velcro sleeves are very well done. Beware putting anything pointy (like keys) in the inner pockets as the material is delicate. BEWARE OF SIZING: If you normally wear Large in Patagonia coats as I do (@ 6' 185 lb), you must order a Medium in the Primo Down. Don't waste your time ordering a Large - it is massive.
