The Patagonia Men's Primo Down Jacket. The warmest, most protective jacket for freeriders: The Primo Down Jacket, engineered with Gore-Tex Performance Shell uses the most durable nylon face fabrics available. The 2-layer construction uses a Gore-Tex membrane, which is bonded to the outer material and protected on the inside by a separate lining for better wear, greater comfort, and waterproof/breathable protection. And the shell jacket is packed with warm 700-fill goose down for reliable cold weather protection.

DECENT FEATURES of the Patagonia Men's Primo Down Jacket

  • Durable 2-layer, recycled nylon Gore-Tex fabric for waterproof/ breathable performance; 700-fill-power goose down insulation is warm and highly compressible
  • Helmet-compatible, 2-way-adjustable hood with laminated visor for optimal visibility in bad conditions; drop collar protects neck and face, even with the hood down
  • Touch Point System embeds cord locks in the hood and hem to offer quick adjustability and seal out snow (US patent number 5263202)
  • Slim Zip installation with watertight coated zippers for reduced zipper bulk and weight
  • Pit zips quickly release heat; pleated gusset comfortably secures cuff over or under gloves, with less bulk
  • Removable powder skirt is adjustable and fully featured; webbing loops connect to any Patagonia Snow pants to keep the snow out and the skirt down
  • Pockets: Two handwarmers, two chest, one bicep, one interior drop-in and one interior zippered pocket with key clip; includes secure media pocket with cable routing

"Extremely warm and light!"  01/26/12

Excellent coat, runs large though, had to exchange for a medium. Very warm considering the weight of the coat. Much lighter than my North Face HyVent jacket and much warmer. Wind doesn't get through it. Great for those mornings waiting at the bus stop!

"Gigantic"  01/16/12

The jacket is very well thought out. It feels very warm, it's lightweight for an insulated jacket, has high quality zippers and I like the snowskirt. The problem is that it's huge. I could wear a motorcycle helmet under the hood and still have room to spare. I'd like to try a small but they don't have that available. If the sizing was correct, this would be a 4 or 5 star jacket.

"A bit disappointed..."  01/05/12

Sweet coat! Let me start by saying I love Patagonia products. At the $600 price tag I was expecting to be blown away, though I was a bit let down:#1. The zippers don't glide that easily. I haven't worn the coat with gloves yet, but I imagine it might become an annoyance.#2. The coat isn't as warm as I expected though it is super lightweight.#3. The coat runs big. I always wear large with Patagonia but the coat was gigantic. I ended up exchanging for a medium which is still roomy and more appropriate, so I suggest ordering a size down.Still a great coat though. Very high quality materials as you can expect with Patagonia.

"Warmest jacket ever"  09/23/11

I bought this jacket for the winter in Mammoth CA and it was just too warm! This jacket is more suited to places like MT & WY, the Gortex shell kept ALL moisture out and the 750 fill down kept it toasty warm. A must have.
