9/04/12I have multiple of these shirts and they are one of my favorites. They breath and fit nicely. I recommend that if it is washed on any other cycle than cold to stretch the bottom before drying it on low heat. The shirt does shrink otherwise and mostly upwards. They are better than any other polo I have purchased. It would be great if they could take this design and make it from their polyester material though. Colors do fade a little after time. They hold up extremely well and take a beating.
I had high hopes for Patagonia's polo. However, after making the purchase I soon found out that this polo just wasn't for me. The fit was pretty good, it was a bit short around the waist (I'm 5'10 -150lbs) but it was enough to keep me comfortable. After washing the shirt while following the wash instructions, the shirt came out smaller. But not tighter fitting, but the shirt came up around the waist even more. Now I can barely lift my arm up without showing my cute little hairy belly button. The shirt is already loose fitting, so if you're a shorter, meatier guy, this shirt would be great for ya!
I don't know if this review will stay up because I am returning this shirt. So, let me explain why I still give it a "Love It!" review. I think this shirt is awesome and I love Patagonia brand, however this shirt is incredibly over sized. I checked Patagonia's web site and some customer reviews on their website said the same. BOTTOM LINE.... If you wear an xl usually then order a L. If you usually wear a L then order an M. Don't just take it from me. Other Patagonia wearers said the same! P.S. I am not returning mine I am exchanging it.
I am always on the search for a great polo as I wear them religiously throughout the year with jeans. I don't like to tuck them in and this isn't too long. It looks like it was made to wear untucked. The material is very comfortable as well. I have polos from Polo Ralph Lauren, Lacoste, Gap, Lands End, and Tommy Bahama and in my opinion, this beats them all!
