"Unreal Jacket. Keeps EVERYTHING out, Rain, Water, Snow, you name it."
Had this jacket for a few months now and spent over a month using it in the back country. It kept the rain out during torrential downpours at the end of a Colorado summer, it was a great wind layer at the top of Mt. Massive, and kept me dry during a surprise monsoon in the canyons of Utah. This jacket is super-well made, hardly any wear despite being very hard on it. From a style standpoint, the jacket looks good, even just wearing it on the weekends. Only thing to note is that the jacket is not merely a shell, it has some insulation/warmth to it. Be careful if your looking for something to merely use in the warm months, because this jacket might be thicker than what your looking for.
I just got this coat and absolutely love it. My search for a hard shell to add some waterproofing, wind protection and warmth with a hood had ended. I have a Patagonia High Loft Down Sweater and it's really warm on its own but not good enough alone when it rains or when it gets frigidly cold, or to do things like go skiing. I've been searching for a hard shell to use with my Down Seater and this one is perfect. I haven't tried this in really cold weather yet but I know I'll be set this winter since the Piolet seems very durable and waterproof. The fit is regular and had plenty if room to put another coat on underneath like the Down Sweater or my Patagonia R2 fleece. I'm 5' 6", 170lbs and wear a Medium, fits great. Sleeves a bit long but by I think design to allow for climbing and activity. There are velcro cuffs so this really isn't a problem. I also love the adjustable good straps. I'm looking forward to using this in the winter, it won't disappoint!
"Keeps the Warm In and the Cold [and Rain] Out"
Surprisingly warm by itself and waterproof like a duck's...you know. Layer for a versatile winter system. Hood is fully adjustable, visor keeps the rain off your brow, and they say its helmet compatible...if you're into that. Has a slim fit through the chest to the waist while still allowing an impressive range of arm motion. My one complaint is the finely fuzzy fleece-like lining around the collar and near the mouth (when fully zipped) tends to hold a bit of moisture. Somewhat annoying but not enough to give this jacket anything less than a five out of five.
