"Awesome winter jacket" 03/19/13
I picked up this jacket because I've been looking for a decent winter jacket that I can wear to work, shoveling snow, ski in, and be able for hikes. If you know, its hard to find a modestly priced, outdoor inspired, insulated jacket these days. I have the Arcteryx Atom LT hoody, which is great, but lacks the weatherproof shell this has. This jacket bridges that gap nicely. The insulation is warm but not bulky and puffy, the cut is a little roomy but still cut athletically. This is now my go-to jacket when I dont want to layer up just to go to work.
"This coat will rock your socks straight off!" 02/05/13
I was looking for a light waterproof coat that had a little bit of insulation in it that I could use for skiing. Something that would totally work by itself in like the 20s to 30s range. Well it was perfect for that. The bonus that I was not expecting was that it totally works down into the 10s and even single digits with just a light layer underneath it. Thanks to living in Michigan I was able to test it in the single digit cold temps immediately followed by 40s and rain, all in the same week (so lucky). It was unstoppable. Plus I got the paintbrush red color (who are we kidding Patagonia...bright orange) and if I ever decide to take up quail hunting I will totally be in the clear.
"Perfect "s**t it's cold!" jacket" 02/02/13
Preface: I live in Atlanta, which doesn't get all that cold. This jacket could withstand anything the southern US has to offer. This thing is awesome. I use it skiing, kayaking, on nasty winter days, even to work when it's nippy out. It can even get TOO warm, especially when you're moving around and it's over 40F. The pockets are perfect for keeping hands warm and the zippers are all sealed to keep out moisture. You won't get wet wearing this.I'm 5'9" 155 and I got the small- it's a little tight. My only complaint is the big hood. I guess that's to accommodate a helmet. Other than that, a very nice jacket. I'm planning to keep mind for a long time- it's durable like that.
"Hands down the best jacket for all-around use in cold/wet weather!" 01/22/13
I'm 6'2'' 225lbs in-shape with long arms, the XL fits like a glove. This is the only jacket you will ever need! Easily warm outside into the 20's F, completely blocks the wind, rain bead's off for hours, and is nice and comfortable inside. The Nano-Storm has a very clean and professional fit (not long and baggy like a snowboard jacket or most shells, yet still allowing free range of motion), while maintaining excellent performance. I have tried many different types of jackets (TNF Apex, Shell/layers, Big furry things, leather, etc) and this is the best jacket I have ever bought. I wanted something that was great all around, packed easily, and looked sharp. You will NOT be disappointed.
"Excellent all purpose jacket...great combination of wind/waterproof shell with Primaloft insulation" 01/03/13
I bought this jacket for mostly cold weather daily use, with the option to layer underneath it for weather below 25-30 degrees. It is perfect for cold weather days in the 30's. I just took it skiing in Vermont and used it with a base layer and a light fleece and couldn't have been happier. Its well made and runs pretty true to Patagonia sizing, I'm 6'0" 185 lbs and a Large fits a little big with enough room for a layer. It is not really packable if that's what you're looking for, but it is still not bulky to wear.
"Great jacket! Better then I expected, Honestly." 12/27/12
Ive warn this jacket in rain and stayed completely dry. Ive warn this jacket in some of our crazy Michigan winter weather. Were it is 40 degrees when i leave the house and 20 degrees on my way home and im compfortable in this jacket both ways. Honestly warmer then i thought. On some of our warmer days i find myself in a sweat.
"Beautiful coat, almost too warm!" 01/29/12
Right out of the box I liked this coats simple yet attractive styling, the cool Patagonia logo is small but noticeably placed. Once I logged some hours in it I began to uncover some of its best attributes, this thing is really warm and very light weight. I found myself taking it off for cool down periods when exerting extra energy because it was seriously warm and completely wind-proof. Pockets are plentiful and they're big, I easily stowed all sorts of gear while I made my way through the snow. I find myself wearing this coat to work and other daily functions. Simply put, this coat is a great value and you're friends will likely be jealous.

"Comfortable and Warm" 01/13/12
This jacket is great. I wore this on top of my patagonia downsweater to a Park City ski trip and was incredibly warm. The only caution I offer is that while I have found Patagonia to generally run large, this one seems to be a little smaller.
