"I got rid of my Patagonia Down Vest and replaced it with this!!!" 11/25/11
My Down Vest from Patagonia was good, but once I replaced it with this Micro Puff, I realized how uncomfortable the down one was. This is so form-fitting, comfortable, and perfectly warm without the bulk of down. I love all things Patagonia, but have to identify the Micro Puff stuff as an incredible alternative to down. So much lighter weight, less bulk, and perfect fit.
"If you could own only one article of clothing...ok, well after underwears" 02/02/11
I got one of these for my boyfriend for christmas. He never had a vest before and didn't figure he needed one. But he wears it all the time--it doesn't look too big over a t-shirt on unseasonably warm days, but also fits under his winter coat as an extra layer when it's cold. And it packs so small, he takes it everywhere. Patagonia's size chart was right on w/ its recommendation for a medium.
"Hotter than donut grease!" 01/08/11
OK, not really but it is pretty warm. I feel I can wear this from 50F on down, it does a great job of keeping my core warm. I really like the fact tht it is synthetic material to dry quickly and retain warmth when wet. It can pack down to almost nothing. Another bonus is that it is pretty easy on the eyes, I get many compliments on it when I sport it!
"Totally Rad" 03/02/10
First, let me say that I've never owned a piece of down insulated clothing having grown up in the North East and now chilling in Washington State. With that in mind, this is the warmest vest I have ever worn, as compared to many fleece vests including Mountain Hardwear's Windstopper Tech vest. It's nicely wind resistant, but definitely not windproof, if that's your bag. The fabric isn't very abrasion resistant, so I would not recommend wearing it as an outer layer when bushwhacking or climbing, but that goes with the territory of most lightweight, compressible insulators. Bottom line, it's extremely cozy, light, and compresses to the size of an apple.
"If it had sleeves, it would be to warm." 01/16/10
I love it. I am always too warm, so an insulated vest is a perfect mid layer for me on very cold active days. I decided not to by a DOWN vest, so I can go jump in a lake and stay warm. Or whatever. Primaloft One IS as warm as down. I have already twice snagged the pocket zippers, but so far no damage. This is a minor annoyance. This vest rocks!
