"Solid; underpromised-overperforms"  01/16/12

Warm and dry. This is a great all around jacket; comfortable with only a tshirt between 25-40 degrees for over an hour, much warmer than rated. Ripstop fabric is super light but super tuff. Stuff sack makes it a great back up jacket for those unpredictable road trips. My only suggestion would be to place cordura type fabric on bottom side of forearms and improve zippers on pockets.

"Exceedingly Warm, Understated elegance"  11/27/11

Was tentative to buy this coat as I was afraid it wouldn't be warm enough to get me through the whole winter with daily wear. Recently wore it to the Detroit Thanksgiving parade and sat outside in 30 degree weather for 3 hours and was very comfortable.Having passed this moderately cold weather for this length of time while not moving, i fully expect it to meet all my winter needs without looking like an overly stuffed marshmallow (you down wearers).Happy to own it.

"FREE STUFF!!!"  11/22/11

So I've been looking for a really good mid weight jacket that does as well screwing around as it does under a shell. This is the exact jacket I've been looking for. Although the fabric looks nice and feels even better im a little worried about it snagging & tearing just sliding in and out of the jeep. The fabric definately does not feel cheep and slides under a shell super nice. 6'1" 45" chest 36 waist XL fits nicely leaving room for a wool under & not look like a marshmallow. I like the fit a bit loose so I can pick stuff up without tearing the sleeves and gagging myself while fully zipped. Free stuff!!!! expected junk but it's Moosejaw madness you will definately enjoy!!!

"Light Weight and Warm!!!"  08/24/11

Got this jacket a year ago, and it's now the go to. It's amazingly light weight, yet very warm. I wear this bad boy for everything from hitting the slopes to just hanging out on the back porch.

"Warm yet light"  08/17/11

Nice jacket. Good weight to warmth ratio. Very versatile. Can be worn as a stand alone jacket in the cold if on the go, or under a shell if prolonged exposure to cold is anticipated. Looks nice.

"Awsome Jacket!"  12/20/10

I love this jacket. The sleeves and tail are longer than average, thereby keeping the sleeves and tail from rising up when your out-and-about in the cold. I also love the warmth to weight ratio. I can wear this to my kids' hockey practices, outside in frigid temperatures, etc. without the slightest shiver. Buy it, you won't regret it.

"Nice jacket, but could use a bit more loft"  12/15/10

This jacket runs large, especially compared to other brands. I usually wear XL (6', 200 lbs), but the L was plenty roomy to handle several layers underneath. It's a comfy jacket (very light and compressible), but not thick at all; a bit more loft would be nice. There is barely any fill in the collar-- why so chintzey, Patagonia? Still, it adds a decent amount of warmth when you layer... or else wear it as a light jacket on a cool day.I preferred the slightly bulkier Marmot Cauldron, but their L was too small for me, and the XL was way too big. Go figure.

"Warm, Windproof, & Lightweight"  12/13/10

I've been using the jacket for a couple weeks now. It's light, windproof, and amazingly warm for its weight. Fit is large enough for layering (R1 + t-shirt is no problem). Wore it today in 10F weather (windchill about -10F) and was plenty warm with a LS t-shirt under it.My only complaints would be 1) the fact that the 'stuff sack' is a separate item, not built in. And 2) that the body is not slightly slimmer, though that complaint would apply to just about all 'regular fit' Patagonia outerwear save for the Better Sweater. I would consider both issues minor and subjective.I'm 5'-11", 140-145lbs and wear a size small.

"Toasty"  12/04/10

Great jacket, real warm by itself with a light baselayer under (R1 was pretty much made for this I think!) and works for me down way below freezing, or if your looking to do something a little more intense throw on a shell and you've got yourself a bombproof outfit. The jacket blocks wind a heck of a lot more than I expected, a nice feature. 6'0" 155lbs, I wear a medium, (kinda like most Pata, it runs a little large) I was swimming in the large and it was hard to cram into a shell. Overall a worthy investment! Plus my girlfriend thinks it looks nice!

"2nd review for that second jacket I love."  11/03/10

Forge grey is a great color. Has all the same warming but just cool enough characteristics of the black jacket, but this time in grey. Because hey, everyone has a black jacket. Not bulky, can be worn in fall, winter, and spring with appropriate layering. The sleeves can be rolled up! How many puffy jackets do that? Great great jacket.

"Great jacket. Loved it, so I bought a second color."  11/03/10

Looking for a jacket that could layer in the cold (freezing or just below) and not be too warm for the fall and early spring. This is that jacket. Not puffy at all. Sized just a bit big, but very comfy and stylish and just the right weight for NYC. Layers well and not bulky at all. You can roll up the sleeves! Bought it in Black and Grey...

"World class lightweight winter jacket."  01/06/10

This is my second Puff style Patagonia jacket. I've had the "Fireball" for some years, but as the name states, you literally become a fireball if your not in sub zero temps. The Micro Puff is perfect for my warmer than average body temp. It's kept me ultra comfortable even on the coldest days so far this winter.
