"I do everything in these shorts...well, almost everything" 11/01/11
These shorts rock! I use them for everything, every day wear, hiking, climbing, swimming diving, fishing...they always do their job, dry quickly and the fish guts was right off with a few blasts from the hose. They are very lightweight and breathable. The single greatest pair of shorts I own. I only own one because they're not exactly cheap, but hey, they're so durable and easy to clean, I only need one pair.

These are an awesome pair of shorts that will keep you nice and comfy while you hike around the wilderness! They also dry extremely quickly if you decide if you want to hope in the river next to you. I love these shorts and am going to order another pair once more size come in. all around just awesome shorts.
"Excellent warm weather shorts" 06/22/11
Bought these for a 3-week Costa Rica trip. Thought the shorts looked a little poofy when I first put them on but they ended up being my go to gear for the trip - hiking, canyoning, repelling, travelling and just hanging out. Super comfortable in hot weather - lightweight and quick drying. Continue to prefer these shorts over all others for activities on warm days. Seem very durable as well.
"Clever Stiching, Great Length, Suberb Material" 04/16/11
Thoughtful stitching in and around the pockets, including a nice little escape hatch for any water that might want to stay in your nylon pockets. Extra button sewn onto the back of the zipper, so watch your naughtybits where that's concerned. Zipper in the back keeps your wallet where it belongs, as well as the sidepocket on the right side. Very little complaints...you get what you pay for.
"My new favorite shorts" 09/25/10
The material is really lightweight, but incredibly tough. The pockets are well placed, and there are plenty of them. The waist and belt are well-designed for life under pack hipbelts. Patagonia quality is excellent, as usual. The length is a little short for casual use, but it's perfect for hiking or scrambling.

I got my first GI II shorts a couple years ago and now have three total. I LOVE these things! Lightweight, quick drying and super maneuverable. The built in belt is a plus as well as the hook and loop enclosure pocket on the side, zippered pocket on the back, and mesh at the bottom of the pockets (great if you need to go swimming in them). I've used these for everything from date night with the wife to sprint length adventure racing and found them to be perfect.

They are a great pair of shorts for travel the main pockets are a good size, and the one side pocket is very handy, they are light and yet get the job done, even in light wind. My only complaint about them is the belt that comes with them, it tends to loosen on its own, but re-tightening it is not that difficult.

A lot of shorts, and for that matter pants and convertible pants, worn backpacking, hiking, etc are cargo style with a dozen pockets or more. With so many pockets, you wonder what junk people feel they have to carry around at all times.These GI II shorts are simple. Two hand pockets for your hands when they are idle or holding keys and granola bar. A side zipper pocket for securing small things that you don't want too lose like a phone. And a rear zipper pocket for you wallet or "citizenship papers". What more do you really need to carry in a pocket? If you don't need it, don't bring it just to fill-up pocket number 11.
"The only short you need in your wardrobe!!!" 05/30/10
This is the greatest short that I hae ever purchased...bottom line. I first purchased only one pair, as soon as it came, I ordered another one right away. This short is stylish, light weight, rugged...and just plain-ass cool!!! I own Prana, NorthFace & Mountain Hardware gear, these are just more of my choosing. I use it for golfing, hiking, & mt. biking w/liner...and just lounging around a campfire sucking back some cold ones with the boys. These short have been with me from Cabo to Croatia...they dry quick, and take little room & weight in your suitcase...if your not satisfied, Moosejaw will gladly give you your cash back...but that will not be an issue.
