I got these pants as casual hangout pants that could handle forays into the wilderness but was surprised to see that they are more like work/office pants. They have a great build quality and are very comfortable, but if your intent is to wear them with your gunked up sneakers and an old moosejaw hoodie, they may look a little out of place.
I've got the builder pants and heavy weight shorts by Patagonia and had to size down from 33 to 32w. The waste band on the Duck is short compared to the other 32w's. It's a snug fit but still comfortable and I would recommend these but size up an inch on the waist.
Having already owned these in a different colour...was a matter of going for it! Fit is on the small side, but length is true. Material has held up great to wear and wash cycles. These are dressy enough for work, but survive whatever you throw at them.
most pants today are slim. I have big legs (its not cool) so most of the pants I try on feel like spandex. These are the perfect fit. Not slim fit, but not baggy like a 6th grader's jeans in the 90's. Work or play these pants are perfect
I picked these up at an REI scratch and dent sale for $20, with tag "used lightly, did not like style" Personally, I love the style. They aren't cargo pants and bulky so I can wear them around casually any time. They are nice and comfortable without any restrictions which is great for hiking. I wear a size 30 waist and unfortunately I bought a size 32, but I couldn't be too picky at the scratch and dent. When I first took it off the rack I figured I would have to wear a belt with it, but surprisingly they fit perfectly! Overall great product.
I bought these pants for my picky 23 year old son for Christmas. He says they are the coolest pants he has ever had!!! I'm getting ready to order another pair because he likes them so much. I would recommend them highly!!!
The Patagonia Duck Pants are very comfortable for daily wear, fit well either relaxing or at the office. The fit is true and slightly relaxed but not baggy they are a great pair of pants and I would defiantly recommend them.
I bought these because I couldn't find Mountain Khakis in my size (32x30) at the time. I am a huge Patagonia fan and own a lot of Patagonia products but these don't compare to anything in the MK line-up.
"Great pant... indicative of Patagonia's commitment to customer satisfaction"

Great product: accurately described by MooseJaw as well. these pants are hardy yet suptle and can facilitate work boots/lace-ups without having to slice the inseam open 7". Can dress up or down. Works well with "tiger's blood."
These pants have a nice fit, true to size. They are lightweight, yet sturdy. Can go with just about anything. Organic cotton texture is a nice subtle change from the norm as well.
