The Patagonia Men's Down Sweater is a lightweight down jacket for staying warm during winter activities. The jacket is full of 800 fill power goose down inside of a durable 100% recycled polyester ripstop shell to surround your upper body with warmth. The shell is windproof to block gusts and is also coated with a durable water repellent to deter light snow. When you're not sure what the weather has in store, it compacts down into it's own chest pocket, ready when the weather turns without taking up space or weighing down your pack. A chin guard protects your neck from getting pinched when zipping all the way up and elastic cuffs wrap softly around your wrists to keep warmth inside. Wear the sweater alone or underneath a hardshell for a complete winter package.

Products on Sale are Discontinued Styles or Colors.

DWR tech

Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. It's cute to think of a fabric as being afraid of water. Now if only they could make a bearphobic coating. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fit, exceptionally warm and not bulky I picked this up during KC's most recent freeze and can say it exceeded expectation. Besides fitting really well, (true to size with a tailored fit), it is super warm. When I saw it online, I thought it would be a "puffy coat," quite the opposite. It feels like wearing a sweatshirt, and one day I didn't even take it off at my desk. Blocks wind and keeps me super warm in these 15-20 degree days. It defies logic, there's no way it should be this warm! It's the type of coat you can wear while driving and it won't restrain you, it's very flexible. Love it and wish I'd found it sooner.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm, Light-Weight, Comfy, and Stylish. It's Hard to Beat. This jacket is my go-to for any cold-weather activities that are thrown my way. This jacket kills the cold. We recently had a cold front where the wind chill got down to -15. This jacket performed gallantly in blocking both the cold, and all but the gustiest winds. Paired with a soft shell or rain jacket, you can be toasty in just about any weather. I love the colors, too (I got red). This will be an excellent addition to anyone's adventure wardrobe.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from If you don't own a Patagonia Down Sweater yet....do yourself a favor and BUY ONE ASAP! Wow. This garment is fantabulous. First off, it weighs virtually nothing, seriously, it feels lighter than a long sleeved t-shirt. It keeps me warm in cold weather, and yet when I go indoors, I don't overheat. This may be why you see so many hipsters wearing this while ordering their Moscow Mules at the local too-cool-for-school tavern. All kidding aside, I've worn the Nano Puff and Micro Puff for years....and was always reluctant to get a Down Sweater in case it was wet outside. This has the Patagonia DWR coating, so you should be fine with normal snow-like precipitation. I ordered the Feather Grey, and it features a navy blue zipper and interior. The color scheme is perfect, I'm only referred to a Michelin Man on rare occasion.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warmest, Lightest, most comfortable insulating layer you can get! The fit: It has ample room in the chest and shoulders. I have long arms and have trouble getting gear with long enough sleeves, but that is not a problem here. I can be lifting my kayak onto the roof of my truck with out feeling like a fat man in a little coat. Slim fit layers well under a shell. ,,Attributes: Nice big pockets up front that you can easily get your gloved hand in and out of without any difficulty. The inner breast pocket doubles as a stuff sack so you can stow it in your pack for when you get to the summit ridge. Light weight and almost excessively warm. ,,Cons: It does not breathe well. So it is on you to know when to take it off before you start to sweat when on your climb. It is spend, but you get what you pay for. ,,,,Great Jacket. I love it. Buy it. You will be happy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The heat cocoon. This is what I call this jacket. It's a running joke between my girlfriend and I. The heat cocoon performs stellar in any kind of cold. If it's truly freezing out there layer this sucker and throw a hard-shell over this down sweater for a true high-performing cold weather system. I went with blue since I have so much greys and blacks in my wardrobe. I'd highly recommend this to anyone looking for cold weather gear. It's windproof and extremely warm, just be wary of any sharp things.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This jacket is amazing The 2014 version of the down sweater was redesigned to provide a slightly more tailored fit and longer arms, but it still fits true to size. I am +/- 6'1", 160 lbs and a medium feels like it was custom made for me. It has high quality down and offers tremendous warmth for its weight. The redesign also offers higher quality zippers, which have yet to snag since I've owned it. I look forward to getting many years of use out of this jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another great Patagonia product I have had this jacket for two years and I love the fact that you can pack it down inside itself in one of the pockets. This jacket keeps you very warm and is extremely light. I have packed it up into the little ball and have used it as a pillow for long car rides. I bought this online rather than trying in on in the store and I will say to definitely make sure you get the correct size for yourself and your use. I am 6'1", 185lbs and I bought the xl. The xl fits fine but it a bit puffy when zipped up without a base layer beneath. In retrospect I probably would have rather gone with the large but the xl is probably a better fit when layering the jacket with a better sweater or sweatshirt beneath. Also, as I'm sure many of you already know, this jacket snags easily so wear another jacket over top of it when hiking through brush. Overall though this is a great product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pretty much perfect If you can find the $ for this jacket, make it so, Number One. It's warm and fits well, but it also weighs nothing and packs down to nearly nothing. So you can shove it in your bag at any time--handy for cold nights camping or trips where you need to carry that warm jacket around just for when you get back home. Plus, Patagonia will fix it if anything goes wrong (like feathers poking out.)
