"Versatile, Warm" 05/02/08
I use this as a coat most of the winter. Water repellant but not water proof. Perfect for dry Colorado but perhaps not for the Northeast or Northwest. I pair it with a shell to provide more protection from the elements. Nice fit, nice craftmanship, sure to be my winter coat of choice for many years
"Lightweight and warm." 01/30/08
I bought this to add to my ultra-light gear setup. I have not had a chance to go out backpacking yet cause it is still too cold in January, but just wearing it around town in 20-40 degree weather it has been great. Yesterday there was a good stiff wind that was biting through my jeans and freezing my legs, but the windproof material on this jacket kept my top half warm. For those of you concerned with the Ultralight weight, the X-Large is 13 ounces. The details say 9 ounces, but my guess is that is for a medium size.
"I will definitely order from Moosejaw again." 01/21/08
This jacket is just what I expected from Patagonia. It is very warm, lightweight and well made. I tried to get the hoody but it is so popular that EVERYBODY is sold out including Moosejaw. I guess I will just have wait until next year.
"Buy this now, don't think, just get warm." 10/04/07
Had one of these for my winter adventures last season. So warm, so comfy, so light. I love you down sweater, your my bestest friend ever. Wear this jacket and you'll feel like a spaceman. Ground control to Major Tom, Space is cold, put your down jacket on. How many times have you sat out on the cold, wishing you were warmer, you'd pay that extra bread for just a couple of degrees of heat. Here it is.
"Don't Miss Out - Get it before their sold out again" 07/27/07
2007 Model seems tougher than 2006, My most functional layer-ing garment, Moosejaw has them Before Patagonia even posts them on their Site Yes, Expensive but worth every cent. There just isn't any situation requiring extra warmth it can't be used in- because of the lack of Bulk and 800 Goose Down insulating power. Don't miss out last year they were all but gone by early Oct. This year its the first thing I bought for Winter in July
"Light, warm and comfy." 07/25/07
Got this for my 87 year old mother. She wore one on Mother's day and found it warm and comfy and very light weight. She doesn't do much outdoor stuff but is a very game lady and this jacket, though expensive, is a great thing. PS I also bought one for me. It came highly recommended from two relatives that I normally would never listen to, go figure!
