Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm, light, compresses small, and AWESOME This down jacket performes under adverse conditions with flying colors! Patagonia makes a great product while keeping us in the back country in mind. The sweater itself is exteremely warm and the size fits true. I am 6 ft and the large fits me just right! As far as features go, do not sell yourself short by not getting the hood. The hood is what makes this jacket, extremely warm, 15 degrees outside with gusts up to 20mph, and I took off my beenie because my ears were roasting! the jacket is windproof(except zipper!) but over all this jacket compresses for space saving really well but excells at keeping your warm for weighing almost nothing!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bitchin' Jacket This is literally my favorite thing I own. I wore it in rediculous snow storms walking to class in the morning, out on the town in Manhattan, skiing in Vermont, sub zero temps in Colorado, and am about to bring it out with me to Wyoming for the summer. The absolute best part about this jacket is that it is sooo warm, but you don't feel like you're wearing a heavy coat. YOU CAN ACTUALLY MOVE IN IT. Also, it breaths. You know in the Spring when its freezing in the morning, but then warms up in the afternoon and then you cant stop sweating? Well, all I had to do with this is unzip it a little and I was perfect. I can't say enough good things about this coat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light, Bomber, Take anywhere warmth. This has been a great addition to my gear stash. I was up in the air between a hooded sweater, and the original. I am happy I went with the hood. This jacket is like a little heating blanket and the hood is extremely warm. I'll throw it on over my shell for belaying or during a rest/lunch break to keep the warmth in. It is awesome for walking to class in the frigid Fairbanks temps. A note on the fit - It is "boxy" and not form fitting. This is not a design flaw. It's better for warmth as it creates more dead air space even with additional layers underneath. The material is bomber for such a light jacket. It's very abrasion resistant. Very impressed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightest and Warmest Jacket Ever! The Down Sweater Hoodie is by far the warmest and lightest jacket I have every had or seen. The design of the jacket with thinner but more abundant baffles helps keep the loft in place, in turn keeping me warmer. It is nicely cut, short enough to still wear a harness comfortably with it but does not ride up everytime you sit or bend over. The jacket packs into its inside pocket, making it easily stuffed anywhere in a pack to have at any time. This thing is seriously warm. It snowed the day I got it and was walking my dog in the snow (20ish degrees) with it and a tshirt and was toasty. You will not be disappointed!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great all around jacket I bought this jacket last year to replace my down sweater (hoodless) version when I got to close to the campfire. One year later, I'm wondering how I ever got along without it. I've worn this in temps all the way up to 40 degrees and as low as -20 degrees. It keeps me warm but it doesn't over heat me and it's breathes wonderfully. I love that you can pack it up into it's own pocket and it doesn't take up any space. I use it when I travel as a pillow and added insulation. Best of all, if i don't need it, I can shove it in my pack without taking up any room.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Get the hood! I got this jacket last winter and it has been exceptional. I don't feel the blustry cold michigan winter wind. the jacket also regulates temperature real well. I'm 5'8 about 170 and I went with a large because I wanted to be able to layer a bit if needed. The medium was a little too tight on my waist (waist: 34). Since the jacket has a draw string at the waist it just made sense. I am very happy I spent the extra $50 and got the hood, it's even warmer, and I love how high the neck zips. Overall this is one of the best jackets you can invest in.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Will exceed all expectations Unbelievable weight to warmth ratio. Will keep you warm in very cold temperatures. With the hood up and the zipper at the top position, this jacket will hold body heat better than any other jacket I have had any experience with. Also, the jacket is very windproof and holds out quite a bit of water. All in all, this is an excellent jacket and makes me wish I owned it long ago. ,,,,p.s. I got a pick in the jacket hiking through a briar patch, and by the next morning, the pick had worked itself out and was now invisible. just a great jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a must have especially with the Hood! Researched everywhere and this product is amazing! Still keep it in the plastic bag it came in because I'm weird and I love it so much. Just used it while camping and actually ended up sleeping with it on because the weather was about 20 degrees colder than I expected, the down hoody worked amazing in conjunction with my down bag. The hoody kept the wind off my face and the breathability held the temp just right! So far I am very impressed with the warmth and quality. Starting to get a man crush on patagonia!
