Stretchy double-knit fabric wicks extremely well
Durable smooth jersey face slides easily beneath layers
Fabric is brushed for warmth, softness and compressibility
Provides excellent insulation and breathability
Zip-neck for easy climate control
Backed by draft flap with zipper garage
Raglan sleeves and single-piece shoulder panel merge out of the way of pack straps
Side seams are rolled forward for comfort under hip belt

This shirt seems nice, but once you wear/wash it a couple times you will be disappointed you bought it.The fabric 'clings' to your body in a static fashion. Also perspiration odors persist after washes.For the same price, there are better mid-weight layering shirts out there

"Theeeeeeeeeerrre Great!" 02/01/13

Awesome product. Couldnt decide between the cap 3 or cap 4. Glad I went with the 3 as i feel they are more comfortable and stretchy then the cap 4's which my brother owns. Great product.

"Great base layer" 12/02/12

What can I say - this thing fits well, is comfortable under a pretty broad temperature range and looks pretty sharp. For sizing reference, I'm 6'00", 160 lbs and the medium fits pretty well. I don't know it's as form fitting as it's supposed to be, but I'll stick with medium when I order another.

"Love this -- buy it" 10/04/12

Patagonia makes some of the best underwear (I prefer that term over baselayer, just sounds more fun) out there! Perfect fit and great performance!

"Excellent base layer" 04/20/12

Very comfortable and lightweight, and the construction seems durable. Surprisingly warm for the weight. Wicks moisture away well (though I'm not convinced about the effectiveness of the "Gladiodor odor control"). The zip neck is nice for added temperature control, but the zip can chafe a little against the neck. I'm 5'10" 135 lbs and size S gives me the correct "slim fit".

"Better than I thought it could be." 01/22/12

I received my Patagonia Capilene Zip Neck 3 days ago. I put it on yesterday & we got hit with show & it's been in the single digit temps, with the windchill. I wore just the pullover & a goretex jacket to do 2 hours worth of snowblowing & it was just perfect. I didn't feel cold from sweating because I stayed dry & warm. It also looks great on me, really well made.

"Very soft and is a great color" 01/21/12

I bought this shirt on clearance (half off) and it was well worth the full price. The shirt is very soft and warm. The XL fits great (6ft4-215lbs). Great as a base layer as well as for a casual night out. Big ups!

"One of the best!" 01/06/12

This certainly is one of the best! I brought my cap 3 zip neck with me on the JMT as my baselayer! It was great. It kept me warm and was still very breathable. I really have no complaints. After wearing it almost daily for 3 straight weeks and also with a heavy pack over it at times, it still looks almost new! The zip is a great feature for eliminating excess heat when going up Muir Pass!
