"Excellent base layer" 04/20/12
Very comfortable and lightweight, and the construction seems durable. Surprisingly warm for the weight. Wicks moisture away well (though I'm not convinced about the effectiveness of the "Gladiodor odor control"). The zip neck is nice for added temperature control, but the zip can chafe a little against the neck. I'm 5'10" 135 lbs and size S gives me the correct "slim fit".
"Better than I thought it could be." 01/22/12
I received my Patagonia Capilene Zip Neck 3 days ago. I put it on yesterday & we got hit with show & it's been in the single digit temps, with the windchill. I wore just the pullover & a goretex jacket to do 2 hours worth of snowblowing & it was just perfect. I didn't feel cold from sweating because I stayed dry & warm. It also looks great on me, really well made.
"Very soft and is a great color" 01/21/12
I bought this shirt on clearance (half off) and it was well worth the full price. The shirt is very soft and warm. The XL fits great (6ft4-215lbs). Great as a base layer as well as for a casual night out. Big ups!
"One of the best!" 01/06/12
This certainly is one of the best! I brought my cap 3 zip neck with me on the JMT as my baselayer! It was great. It kept me warm and was still very breathable. I really have no complaints. After wearing it almost daily for 3 straight weeks and also with a heavy pack over it at times, it still looks almost new! The zip is a great feature for eliminating excess heat when going up Muir Pass!
"I love this jacket." 12/23/11
This long sleeve can serve many purposes. It makes a good base layer or a nice mid layer during summer nights. Material is very soft and breathable but also provides some insulation in colder weather. The fabric is very stretchy but the arms seem to be a bit too long. Adding a couple thumb holes would have been nice as well.
"Like it more than UA" 12/22/11
I bought this product to put under the Marmot Super Hero Jacket for snowshoeing. I'm 5'9" weigh 175 and wear a 41" suit jacket. The medium fits me great. I like the high neck a lot. It's easier to pull up the sleeves than UA and I don't have that cold clammy feeling when I'm not moving. We've had NO SNOW this winter but I've been hiking and warmed right up on an easy hike when the temp. was 40 degrees with drizzle (wearing this product under a light fleece under the Marmot SHJ). When the hike became moderate I had to open up it was that warm. When I got home I wasn't in a big hurry to get it off the way I am with UA. I'll be getting more of this. It washes easily and dries fast.
"Absolutely Amazing" 12/22/11
This Capilene pullover is more than just an awesome base layer. You can use it as an outer layer over a t-shirt or even as a mid-layer over a t and under a jacket. It is extremely versitile and I would highly recommend it to all of you.
"Great underwear for sporting in cold weather" 10/24/11
Have used this quite a lot for cycling to work in spring/fall. With a windproof cycling shell on top, this keeps me warm down to 10 degrees centigrade. Zip is functional, and I found the neck to be perfect height, not giving me that turtleneck/strangled feeling. Wicks moisture nicely and keeps me warm. Been washing it a lot too, and it seems to hold up well. Will be getting more capilene no doubt.
"great all around jacket" 08/30/11
great all around jacket for warmer weathers i use it all the time from cool summer nights to colder fall or under another jacket it keeps in heat well and the zipper helps regulate heat well I use it all the time from walking around the city to backpacking to riding my bike,
"I use it for everything and love it!!!" 08/23/11
I just came back from a year traveling around the world and I used this all the time! It makes a great base layer under a coat. It also works well on its own. I breathes well so you don't get too hot, but it adds a nice layer of warmth on cool days. Perfect for doing anything active!
"I Love The Capilene 3 MW Zip Neck" 08/13/11
I really like the Capilene 3 Zip Neck. It's a perfect midweight baselayer. This is my second one. My other Cap 3 is a T-Neck. I decided to get the Zip Neck, so I can regulate my body temperature. You don't get that option with the T-Neck. I wore it under my Mountain Hardwear Exposure II Parka when it was 32 degree's outside and I was totally warm. I had no complaints whatsoever. The fit wasn't skin tight like the picture depicted at the Patagonia web site, but it was pretty close. The Capilene 3 Midweight Zip Neck is a very good product. I definitely recommend it.
